OK, how about this. You have 15 seconds total. If you can start your engine in
1 second and launch in 1 second, you get a 13 second engine run. I can now see
our F1J at 10,000 feet!
Nah, we have a hard enough time getting it trimmed for 7 seconds........

Bill Pudney:
FYI: I just received a call from my son Martin. He is up at Lost Hills
preparing for the Team Finals competition. At a few minutes before 8
a.m. he had a flight that DT'd at 5:30. He said the model may have done
6 minutes had it glided in. He was using the April '04 batch of Super
Sport! The model was the latest from Igor Vivchar.
I personally have found both that batch and the Oct.'03 batch to be
fully competitive.

F1B and 30 gram motors - Pudney
Good point Bill, I haven't tried Tan super sprot yet (and I don't have
stores of Tan 2 stored either)
I also felt the 30gm rule was a bit of a knee jerk reaction. I will stick my
neck out and say I think we should go back to maybe 35gms. I also miss the
sight of the 40gm models but realise that, with best Tan 2, they were rather
too good for our flying fields etc. I rather expect the rules will never be
changed back, but I would like to see it happen. I think a strong point in
favour of it is the fact that F1B performance reached a plateau about five plus
years ago and there is not much chance of any really new developments with the
long standing static rules. Who else, if anyone agrees with say a return to
35gms?
