Koach Kredit

At the recent Kotuku and Sierra Cups there were a number of Junior flyers. These flyers did well in what was nice but tricky conditions. From memory I think that it was Annt and Liad’s first big contest weekend. The hardest working coach was Guy Goldstein with 2 daughters Noa and Annt both flying in F1A. Guy flew himself and did most of the chasing. The other 3 flyers had family members there but an experienced flyer as coach as well. Liad was extra lucky because in a way he had 2 expert coaches. His on the field coach was SCAT President Jim Parker . But Liad flew what I think was a Buntbone from Don Zink’s estate. Don was renowned for getting this model to fly well especially in gentle thermal conditions. We saw that when on one flight the model cruised around between 3 and 5 meters off altitude for about 2 minutes giving Liad a MAX. His cousin Ittai flew F1B with increasing success coached by Mike Achterberg, with no doubt additional “input” from fellow Nor Cal F1B guys, Larry, Walt, Mike and Jerry. Skylar over from AZ was coached by Sevak Malkhasyan, their effort was to get max turns and a vertical launch which judging by the photo on the Free Flight group on FB they are on the right track.

Not forgetting where to start

Below is a notice about a youth catapult glider event. This is sponsored by GTS FreeFlight. This is an effort to help young people to get started. Taron and Sevak who are no longer juniors understand that you can’t start flying with super complicated and expansive model. When younger they got started by flying “small gliders” and really had a good time. So in case you have not worked it out, G is for George, the CEO, T is for Taron the VP of Engineering and F1C world Champ and S for Sevak the mouth piece, VP of Marketing and big F1B winner last weekend. So there are 16 days left to for your young friends to enter and it’s the first step on the way to be a World Champ… and more importantly have a great time on the field, just ask Taron or Sevak! After all having fun is what it is all about.
