Stamov Family Statement

On August 24th 2013 we lost our beloved husband, father, brother, son and dear friend, Victor Stamov. Victor passed away while doing what he loved most, flying in a contest. The pain caused by Victor's passing is unimaginable for us and the free flight world. We would like to thank Victor's friends and customers from around the world for the overwhelming love and support they have poured on us. While your support has given us strength when we most need it, we also ask for your understanding that we cannot thank each of you individually. Please accept our deepest "Thank You" in this form.

For those of you who already own model airplanes or parts from Victor, or have recently placed orders, we would like to assure you that we are actively working on transitioning the support & repair of existing, and fulfillment of new orders. Rest assured that we intend to continue Victor's legacy by continuing the "Stamov" brand. We will inform all of you about this transition in the not too distant future. Meanwhile your patience and loyalty is appreciated.

For the interim, while this transition is in progress, we would like to announce that temporary limited emergency support and repair services for "Stamov" products are available from Rene Limberger (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for Favionics/Stamov products) and Roger Morrell (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for Magic/Stamov products).

For any further inquiries regarding Victors passing and the future of the Stamov brand, please contact Rene Limberger (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).

Time to think about Sierra Cup 2013 at Lost Hills, CA.

When:  10/13 through 10/14 with 10/15 for a reserve day.  Yes, Juan Livotto's contest is 10/12 and 10/13 so this year Sierra Cup will complete the long Columbus Day weekend.

Schedule:  10/13 will be the Mini events, F1G, F1J and F1H and F1P.  Juan will also have his Minis on Sunday so the first flight each round will be for the Livotto Contest and the second flight each hour round will be for Sierra Cup.  Rounds begin at 8AM with two sets of potential flyoffs beginning at 3PM (Rounds may be adjusted for retrieval conditions but at present contestants will fly two times each hour-one flight in each round).

Sunday night after the Minis will be a BBQ on the field and is included in your entry fee with additional tickets available for $20.

Monday 10/14 will be the Big events, F1A, F1B, F1C  and F1Q.  Those events are also scheduled to start at 8 AM and will be flown from poles depending on entries.  Flyoffs to follow regular rounds and there will be no lunch period.  Should any final morning flyoff be required in these events, they will be flown Tuesday morning.

Pre-entry is appreciated but entry will be available Friday and Saturday at the official "Everest" CD trailer.

Entry Fee is $45 for any one event/ $60 for any two events.  Remember, the BBQ is on us Sunday evening.  Bring your FAI stamp when you sign up.  The Sierra Cup is a World Cup and America's Cup event and will be run to FAI current rules for all events.
