David Wineland

Recently we have published information about notable modellers and their 'other' careers, often in their obituary.  Here is good news about a very important 'other' achivement by a modeller who is very much still alive and active.

David Wineland, who flies primarily AMA power models, was awarded a Nobel Prize in physics in October. He shares the prize with French physicist Serge Haroche. David is a physicist with the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Boulder and a lecturer in the University of Colorado Boulder physics department.  Congrats to this MMM flyer on a tremendous achivement.

There is more information and excellent photos of Dave on the NFFS Web site. www.freeflight.org

Maxmen Info

In an obviously blatant attempot to gain extra publcity for the MaxMen International in February, George Batiuk made a couple of minor errors that means we had to republish the flyer, putting the contest info in front of you again.  Seeing the errors were minor and kind of obvious they would not have affected your travel plans for the Ike/Kiwi WCup, Pan American and MaxMen. But if you hve not booked yet how about doing it now!
