Guys
I've just returned from the Euro Champs. What's the problem with some of you? The Champs are run for the benefit of those competing. Aeromodelling is whatever we like to think not a spectator sport. The results are a nice on line add on but are not a necessity. The prime concern of the organisation is to run an event for those actually there. The event should be run to a high a standard as possible. Our friends in Turkey did a brilliant job. Any question to the organisation was met with an immediate response and action. The field was of a standard we would die for in the UK, the models went distances in the breeze and lift but they were always recovered, including a last round F1B D/T glitch. Our hotel was of the standard I'd be happy to have a holiday in. The food was great, I didn't see much left by our lot despite several helpings! The Turkish people were very friendly and the time keepers although inexperienced learnt fast. The toilets on the field? I've been to many outside events and can say I've never used better!
The only downside was the publication of information. However as team manager a quick question from me soon got the answers the team needed.
The running of a champs is one hell of a job and there ain't no spare capacity to do other than required.
Overall the Turkish Organisation did a splendid job as well as the running of the event they did a great PR job for their country. The Turks want to run World Champs so my comment is grab 'em quick!

To Free Flight Lovers,
Thank you very much for all your support during organization.Your observations were very helpful for us.
We read some complaints about the anouncement of the results. Yes unfortunately we were late to announce them and we really understand you and we accept all those complainings.
We need understanding from all modellers around the world and we hope they will forgive us .
For sure, we had something wrong but, you know, we will try to correct them as much as we can.
Best Regards

EC2010 ORGANIZING COMMITTEE'Lost Hills Contest on September 4th.
This past weekend, I joined Ed Carroll and Don Zink at Lost Hills for some test flying. We decided to return on Labor Day weekend for some more test flying. After talking about our small group of flyers I have decided to hold an FAI contest for F1ABC on September 4th to see if we can get more flyers on the field. This will be a low key contest so you can fly in the contest and also test fly during the day. First flight will be to the ground from 7:30 to 8:00 am. Then you will fly two flights from 8 am to 9:30 am. Two more flights from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. Then two more flights from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm for a total of seven. Do to the expected hot day we will hold off with any more contest flights till 5:00 pm. Depending on the weather conditions we will have a flyoff or hold off till Sunday morning or revert to the first round score. Ten-dollar entry fee with the winner of each event getting 50%, second place 35% and third place 15%. Your CD wants to fly / test fly also, so the flyers will be required to record their own scores after each round. I will provide the score sheets and you will be required to do a little work.
We have a field of carrots on the Lost Hills flying site. As we did for Big Al’s contest the flying site will be to the West end of our property and our flights should miss the carrot field. I will have the phone number for Fermin if we need to call him.
The field to the North has been harvested and has stubble. The stocks are around six to eight inches high and will not make you day if you DT into them.
