Biggles at the Nationals Sunday 24 May 2009
G'Day Roger, Greetings from Brisbane where I am just preparing to depart back to my UK homeland ready for the British Nationals; best to say nothing about my flying down under on this trip! Brian Van Nest and Alan Jack were in superb form as usual. Would it be possible to put the following message in SCAT News, the most read/received organ of free-flight, concerning my Biggles at the Nationals event? Wishing you all the best. David Brawn

Biggles FFT will be hosting an informal dinner at their HQ in the Houblon Arms, Oasby, on Sunday evening 24 May 2009 of the British Nationals. Menu is Chicken Jalfrezi followed by Biggles desert (Hazel's historic Treacle Sponge and Custard). This year we do not clash with the 'pub quiz' so we have a few places available. Cost is ten pounds each for the meal. Currently booked in are:- Ken Faux + four, Mike Woodhouse + 3, David Brawn, John Cooper, Peter + Kath Watson, Neil Cliff, Chris Parry + Jamie Storrs, Geoff Kent, Walt Hodkinson + Terry Dobson, Trevor Grey, Phil Ball, Peter + Cecillia Tribe, John Richardson + 1 + Martin Stagg, Martin Dilly + Stafford Screen, John Bailey, Adam Beale + dad. I have been asked to C/D the Pre-Nats Contest for the 2010 Junior FAI Free Flight program. This will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2009 in Muncie, Indiana. Planning is underway, and the contest sanction has been obtained. We need volunteer timers who to help out. If you are able to commit for this important and rewarding task, please email me at: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Editorial Comment
For those not involved in the FAI Junior program - this contest is a very important part of the Junior Team Selection program. At this event the Juniors are made to fly without adult help. We have a number of talented Juniors in this counrty, in spite of what the nay sayers, say and even if FAI Free Flight is not your current cup of tea, it a great opportunity to make a positive contribution to the "Junior Problem" as well see some great flying with a nice bunch of people.
