World Free Flight Review Book

In digging through all my model stuff I came across an extra brand new
mint copy of Bill Hartills hard cover book "World Free Flight Review"
published in 1976. It is full of hundreds of B&W and color photos,
model views, plans of many of the top models of the day, including a
few embarrassing pictures of my then girlfriend, Sara, running around
the world champs in her bikini. How Shocking!!! At that time her logic
that she would distract the competitors sounded good to me but, let's
face it, I was very naive at the time. I tried to get Hartill to rate
the book R but to no avail. I will be bringing the book to the MaxMen
to raffle it off to the high bidder with the proceeds going to the
junior team. Seriously, the book will be there so place your bid in the
little box next to the book. One last thing, if the price is not high
enough I reserve the right to cut a few pictures of you know who out of
the book!

one more thing about Hartills book
==================================
One more thing about Hartills book, if you are really feeling generous
about donating to the Junior Team I'll throw in a special bonus of a
13x19 blow up of Sara and her bikini taken from the book. You can pin
it up in your workshop and really piss off your wife. Who says
workshops have to be boring, spice it up a little.

I Am trying to get hold of Gabor Zsengeller - F1C flier of Hungary as hes
sent me something I wanted and I owe him some money - due to a loss of my
hard drive a couple of weeks ago, I lost his email address and am desperate
to contact him to find out how much I owe. Have tried a couple of avenues
of exploration all to no avail.
Does anyone have his email address please that they could pass onto me?
Many thanks
Kev

Ah yes...
My first mentor, at whatever age 9th grade was in those days,
was Bud Bobier.
His dad worked for the telephone company.
He lived over on Marlbourough, had a model A ford..
He was our ride to contests, me and Dick Weeks.
Had to spit in the gas tank. Joy Gas. 10 cents a gallon.
Bud was in the tenth grade.
So I used to hang out at his house.
building models, looking at his school books.
He was a year ahead.
I studied his 10th grade physics text book
with great interest.
In the midst of Glen Miller, Arty Shaw and Tommy Dorsey,
he had a great devotion to, for godsake, Guy Lombardo.
Thought Carmen Lombardo's voice was the cats' ass.
He played those recods endessly, with commentary on
neat sections...
No Basie, Earl Hines, Louis...
His other odd quirk was that he lied about his age.
Somehow he was on recod as a junior,
- although he was a senior by AMA's regs.
He spent a year flying under these faulse colors.
with some success.
I did not emulate this mentors example.
Then, of course, the War came.

Yes, 1932 I believe. Wings did it. You prompted me to dig it up. Great
movie for it's time, good still now.
I have many of the movies dealing with early aviation. Only
disappointing factor in wings is that
they did not bother with actual WWI airplanes as Hughs did in Hells
Angels. Can anyone name the 30's
aircraft they used in wings? As member of the Cross and Cockade we have
nearly every film made
about WWI airplanes and flying. Many little known like Gary Cooper
barely out of his teens in Lilac Time
as WWI pilot. Yes Dawn Patrol is a good one. I have that too With Eroll
Flynn Basil Rathbone and David Niven.
There were actual Nieuport 28's and a D-7 in it among other aircraft
"conversions". Another good one
for flying and aircraft is Darling Lilly with Rock Hudson. It is in
color.
