For those who have missed it, the updated USFFC flyer pages are
available on the
NFFS website, http://freeflight.org, and listed under Contest Info.
Several events are listed, which had been inadvertently omitted priorly.
All FAI events will be run in rounds starting at 8AM on the day listed.
Catapult and HL Glider will be flown in a designated area.
See you there!

2M Tracker diractional antenna

Due to numerous requests I have made up a small batch of
directional antennas for use with 2M wavelength trackers (143-147 Mhz)
The antennas are a two element beam design and have very good
directionality. The elements are made from plastic coated tempered
steel and roll up for storage. ( The antenna will fit in a 2X6X8 inch box)
The range with my reciever doubled over using the "rubber duckie"
supplied.
Price: $40.00 plus $5.00 shipping in U.S. Overseas $10.00
I will have my prototype at the USFFC for anyone to try with their
own transmitter/reciever combination.
Beware that power lines/ cellular transmission stations effect
the direction of you transmitters signal. Cars houses etc. will
also effect the signal if they are close. So trying the antenna out
in your front yard may not provide a good result.
Look forward to seeing you all at Lost Hills this weekend.
Ken

I think that I have found a 1/2 A Gas model lost 25 years ago in Palmdale by
Dennis Matsuda. Can anyone help me find him? Thanks,
Dave Bevan, AMA 45861

Does anyone have any info on the SAM champs in 2001 ?.
Like the dates and location ?
In '93 this fitted into the "endless October" as one of the options,
and some people are hoping to do the same again.

cheers

[Dave - I heard that it would be sometime after the World Champs
at El Dorado Dry Lake, Nevada ... just where we came from last weekend]

Weather forcasting is not an exact science .. so those who rolled
the dice and went to this weekends America's Cup contest were
treated to excellent weather, a great contest and a pot of the
famous Prickly Pear Jelly.

CD will send full results [real soon , won't you Jon!] but the winners
were :
F1A - Brian Van Nest
F1B - Bob Tymchek
F1C - Doug Joyce

and I had to leave a little early on Sunday while
F1H and F1G were still going but

F1J - Bruce Augustus.
