I note that the F1B job is out for review. My understanding is that the
proposers have got to get an event together and show that there are takers
for the idea. I'm pretty sanguine about its chances of getting very far!

"The new Nostalgia Rules Book No. 7 is now available. They can be ordered
directly from NFFS Publications by contacting Bob McLinden at 3903 W. Temple
Drive, Denver, CO 80236. The listing of eligible models has been separated
from the book so that it can be continuously updated as new designs are
approved, but each order will contain this separate listing of eligible
models. The cost of the book and the listing of eligible models is $5.00
postpaid.
Although the availability of the book is later than planned, I believe
members will see that the results were worth the wait. Walt Rozelle and the
members of the Nostalgia committee have done an excellent job in making the
book more easily understood and easy to use."

[explanatory note for those not in the USA. The Nostalgia rules are
supplied by the NFFS. A NOS GAS airplane is one from the classic
era and it depends on when the design was first published etc.
The eligible airplanes are listed. I think it's a little ironic
that the rules for flyers who want to return to the simple
good old days are a lot more compliated than ours !]
Bruce Augustus
==============
Bruce Augustus was given life membership of SCAT in recognition for
his efforts with the FAI Mini Events and the America's Cup. Bruce,
who flys AMA and SAM events is also a leading proponent of F1J. He
pressed SCAT to include the Mini Events and very generously donated
the trophies. The Mini event competition has proved to be just as
closely fought as the big events. It has enabled more people to
participate in 'our' events.
