World Champs Flash

Firstly, today Sunday dawned windy and cold. The organizers swapped the processing day planned for Monday with the F1A and F1B/C World cup. Doing the processing indoors today and the flying will re-start tomorrow.

Secret Brit technology seen, at every World Champs there is always new technology. Again UK Physical Fitness F1A man John Carter unveiled a innovation that beats the work out schedule revealed prior to the Euro Champs. John was seen down wind , by your intrepid reporter, running in circles under an under performing Brit F1A. So what's so special about that. How about the rabbit that was also running with John under the said F1B! We have yet to find out how John got the rabbit to cooperate. Those big ears stirred up the air. Nothing in the rules prevents it, unless he fed the animal a “controlled substance” contrary to the FAI's anti-doping protocols.

Also on the innovation front was clever idea from the organizers that perhaps has application for other contest organizers than flapping rabbit's ears. The organizers had 2 time sheets per pole, one for the even numbered rounds and another for the odd. That meant that once a round was finished the next round would use the other sheet, already in place and the times for the round just finished could be collected and the card place ready for the following round at comparative leisure. This may not seem like a big deal unless you have to run an event of this size.

Just got back from model processing and Team Entry, everything going well. We decided to go by the field and lo and behold there was the famous John Carter again. John told me that was checking the wind to see if he could do any early morning trimming [it was 4 PM]. The wind speed low was 20 mph with gusts higher. I think John was really training the rabbit. Only CHE would consider that wind speed to suitable for early morning trimming.
