The Bissonnette Memorial will be held on Memorial Day weekend, May 28th to 30th at Lost Hills flying site.  Friday starting at Noon we will have the F1E contest. Seven half hour rounds will be held on our normal hill South East of the main FF flying site.  Saturday’s contest will be for the F1ABCP events along with Nostalgia Wakefield. Sunday will for F1GHJQ along with the Vintage FAI Power event.  Again this year we will have Nostalgia Wakefield with the first round starting at 9 am on Saturday the 29th. This will be a three round contest per the Nostalgia rules. Also, I would like to remind the winners from last year to return the perpetual trophies engraved and polished.

The contest notice is on the Lost Hills web site if you want to down load a copy. Look under “upcoming events”; http://www.lhffmaa.com/index.html

We will be using the South flying site for this contest. The field to the North has been plowed and makes for difficult chasing along with very dirty models when you land in the loose ground.  My plans are to arrive on Thursday evening and place out pylons for the parking and flight line. I will have the porta potties moved also.

Special notice: We will have a fire hazard at this contest from all the grass that has grown this year due to the heavy rain. Please be careful with parking your car in the grass and also your motorcycles. If anybody is using a fuze DT system please be careful.

Timers This is a fly one flight, time one flight contest. Please buddy up with another flyer for each event. I would prefer that your wife, family member or close friend not be your timer. If you are new to Lost Hills and do not know any other flyers please see me and I will set you up with another flyer. For all fly-offs you need to bring a timer to the line and a random pull of the time cards will select your timer for the flight. Thank you in advance for your corporation on this subject.

April 1 rankings

Judging by the mail I got - Jim fooled more people than Allard.  I was glad to see Allard contining thr EPO april tradition started by Anselmo - is this part of the offical training there?

But I can report if Jim gets one of his F1As in a tree at Muncie he will have plently of help to get it down

Long Poles,

1.  Jim has pole envy.
2.  Size matters.
3.  SEN 1836 was sent on April 1.

Ross

To Jim, the Pole less Flyer!

Jim, it was not on a 1rst of April, but just one month later, so on a 1rst of May, at an
F1E  contest at Monte Sisemol (Italia). I was using such a long aluminium pole, to get my
model down from a high pine tree. I succeeded, but was quite affraid because of a storm,
and from time to time, very close flashes! So, to give more weight to your proposal, I
would also suggest that all carbon models should be banned when contest with local storms
are flashing around !
Pierre,
1rst of April 2010

Lift glasses.

Cool I¹ll place my order next April Fools Day.

Swap?

What is the date?

I'll trade some of my new rubber lubricant. More power and more turns and stops breaking!

{neither Allard nor Rene are "Mature" enough to fly F1B yet - and on Rene's last F1B flight at Lost Hills for the German team the quality of the lube was not an issue

Comment on low tech FF Classes

Arno Hacken This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

My 2 cents, as a ex-FF addict,

Since the number of active free flight pilots is not in excess of fiftyninemillioneighthundredninetytwothausendthreehunderdandtwo it would be very unwise to split up the number of classes any further. Of course it is very nice to have one competitor in each class, as victory is guaranteed, but it will make free flight competition less attractive. The numbers of participant per class will even go down further; simple mathematics.....

The FAI classes are difficult but to stay in European terms; if I want to play soccer I shouldn’t try to play for Chelsea or Barcelona. That’s not my level so I will look for a different team, but the rules for the game remain unchanged ….

Food for thought I hope
