Junior Team So Far
==================
Here is a quick update of the AmCup results I have- waiting on
results from 4 recent contests. Some good races forming. Time
to start planning your Summer Madness and Endless October trips.
Added F1Q! We will handle F1Q like F1P. We will award a 1st place trophy at the SCAT AmCup Banquet.
We will hold off procuring a perpetual
trophy until we start seeing competitive results from
over half the AmCup contests.
Below are the current Jr Team Selection scores; remember that
seeing your name on this list DOES NOT mean that you are
registered in the program. Registration is
free thru AMA (see NFFs web link: http://www.freeflight.org/competition/juniors/juniors.htm
) until a week before the PreNats Jr Team Selection contest on July 31, 2005. On the
field entry can be done on July 30 and 31 (before the contest start)
but is discouraged with a 50$ late fee. Also,
participation in the PreNats+ Nats is
a required by the rules to make the 2006 Jr Team.
Jr Team Selection New Letter #5 with the PreNats information
will be out in a week via SEN and hard copies via AMA two weeks.

Gentlemen & Ladies,
For unknown reasons, my email address aram.schlosberg has been lost in
cyberspace. Although I'm attempting to retrieve it, for the mean time
please
add "1" at the back - aram.schlosberg1 - in order to reach me.
Thanks,

MODEL AVIATION & WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
====================================
Author : This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
OK, it's got nothing to do with me (apart from anything else I'm British not
American) but I think it's very sad if MA is not going to provide full,
illustrated reports on all world championships, wherever they may be held. I
haven't touched control line for 30 years and have never flown radio (I've
been in a couple of British free flight Euro Champs teams so it's pretty
clear where my interests lie) but surely MA, arguably THE world model
aviation magazine, should cover the world's best in all classes. Isn't it,
perhaps, simply part of its job?
It's a big, exciting and demanding world out here, guys, as all your
international competitors know. Don't let MA get too inward-looking,
please...
All best wishes,
Michael Warren
PS I note that the decision not to cover the recent FF World Champs was 'not
your call'. Fair enough and I don't mean to nag. I just hope those at MA
whose call it was are getting the message.

A possibly Stolen Model at Muncie...
====================================
Author : This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Printed on System : aeromodel dot com for scat
This weekend John and I were flying one of his Vasily F1J models at Muncie. Bec
ause of my stupidity (yes Bob G and Jim H., I still admit it!) I did not put a
radio in it. The model decided not to turn and ended up DTing into the cemetary
. Bob Gutai found it the following morning, in a tree. I looked at it and we de
cided to wait until after the first round of F1C to retreive it. When we return
ed, it was gone. Nothing was found under or around the tree.
If anyone happens to find someone on Ebay or anywhere else trying to sell the m
odel, please contact me. It is Icarex covered (red and yellow) with a mica film
stab. It has a Cyclon on it. There is a reward on the finding of the model....
Thanks!!

Should F1P be held as an Open event?
====================================
Author : This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Since posting that F1P will be a junior/senior only event, I have had an open f
lyer ask why no Open event.
My comment on this is that the real only reason for F1P is for the junior WC. B
ut, after thinking about it, this would truly limit the developement of the mod
els for this class. So, I am asking the readers here what they think. Should th
e F1P class be opened up to all ages in contests as large as the NATS?
Tell me what you think and maybe we can get a concensus on this subject. Person
ally, I am not sure.....

F1A Electronic Timer battery Warning
====================================
I have been talking to a number of F1A flyers recently who have had
some un expected incidents with their electronic timers. It is very
important to keep the battries in good shape. Rechargeble battteries
do not last forever and sometimes we over stress our batteries shortening
the life. Also make sure that you test the batteries under load. If the battery
is starting to go it will fail when you have it working the most - during
the bunt phase!
