After a very windy Saturday with mega thermals.
In a Sunday morning flyoff. Both Batiuk and John Sessums hit power
wires with out serious consequences.

Dr Wayne Drake

We were saddend to hear of Wayne Drake passing away suddenly due to
complications in chemotherapy. Wayne Drake was a strong FAI contestant
in the 70s and early 80s. He flew all 3 events, having the most sucess in
F1A. He represented District 11 on the team selection commitee
for a number of years. He had cut back his flying while build a house
and was just getting back into it. Those of you who knew Wayne
might want to write to his wife Jean at 26842 SE Wally Rd, Boring OR
97009.
