Big Al’s first event at Lost Hills
From: Walt Ghio
The Bissonnette Memorial is scheduled for May 27th and May 28th at the Lost Hills flying field. This contest has been held from 1989 to the present. As attendance has been dropping Doug Galbreath and myself have decided that this will be the last “Big Al’s”. Doug and Ken Oliver had started this contest just after the Lost Hills flying site was found. Doug and Ken found the field and were one of the first to hold contest on the site before the property was purchased and the Lost Hills association started. The 2017 winners will keep the perpetual trophies. As last year, I have F1S and E-36 on the schedule. Several flyers have talked about continuing an FAI contest on this date in the future.

Timers This is a fly one flight, time one flight contest. Please buddy up with another flyer for each event. If you are new to Lost Hills and do not know any other flyers please see me and I will set you up with another flyer. For all fly-offs you need to bring a timer to the line and a random pull of the time cards will select your timer for the flight. Thank you in advance for your corporation on this subject.

More Mulligans ?
From: Michael Achterberg
20 sec. Question. So if u burn a plug out or have a flame out in F1c u get no reflight, but if you have an overrun you do get second flight?? For those power flyers who want 20 sec rule dropped, think overruns should be included also. You get 4.1sec. Your official time!!! Or if flag doesnt come off or model doesnt unlatch thats your flight In F1a?? In F1b timer doesnt start or prop release doesnt start thats ur flight?? Hummm.. Well all these things happen at every practically every contest.. Guess its a good way to lower flyoff numbers. Seems a little bit over the top to me. Stuff happens and it happens to all at one time or another. Seems very harsh for those who fly across the world to a contest or drive 100's or 1000's of miles and say too bad. See ya!!! Michael
