SWR Field Restrictions
We have new "chase" restrictions that were just dictated to us by the farming operations that now surround our flying field. If your model lands off of our flying field, you must dismount at the entrance to the farm land and walk to retrieve the model. All of the bridges over the irrigation canals leading to the farm land have been posted with a "No Trespass" sign and a second sign stating to proceed on foot only. We have no choice but to enforce this edict. We have started to search for a new flying site, but this will take time. North American Cup team events
A quick note regarding North American Cup team events:
I've had a few questions regarding the composition of team event at the
North American Cup World Cup contest.
The 3 person team in each category (F1A, F1B and F1C) *does not* need to be
comprised of sportsmen from the same country. Any 3 fliers from any country
can be used to make up a 3 person team.
So find two friends and make a team!

thoughts on rubber sizes and info from the previous owner of FAI Model Supply.
To bring everything up to date we wish to clarify the following:
A. We stopped producing ¼” due to a tremendous drop of in sales volume.
The last batch of ¼” that we put in stock lasted three years. That
turnover rate did not make very good business sense.
We did anguish over the issue of the lack of ¼” for catapult gliders.
B. We do not remember that we stated that 1/16” gave better energy return.
We did state that one or three broken strands of 1/16” were better than one or two broken strands of 1/8”. Stranding 1/16” is really not that big of a deal if you use a Speed Strander. Buy one, you will love it! The
only downside to 1/16” is that to properly lube 1/16” rubber, you would use a
bit more lube per given strand when compared to lubing 1/8”. ( two more
sides to lube).
It always seemed to us that 1/16” round in Tan Super Sport would be the
best solution as there would be less stress risers.( Corners).
1/16” does give you a more precise way to strand a motor to maximize
your model’s performance.
For instance for Coupe, 1/16” or 3/32” gives one more latitude in F1G
performance vs. contest weather conditions.
C. We started using 3/32” to hit a happy medium, and have come to like that
size for both Coupe and Wake.
