Summer SEN

This summer seems extra quiet.  The World Champs in France seems extra popular as many people are getting ready to go, not just team members but spectators and thoe who want to take part in supporting events.

The weather in Europe seems  little more variable and windy than normal.  The Nordic events flown is Sweden seemed to have some short rounds and not always 7 rounds. No report what or why , maybe weather.

Locally SCAT members and friends have been getting ready for France, the Nats and/ or Denver.  Great test flying out at Perris unless you had an LDA F1A because the wind was so light you had to run so hard.  A week ago when I left to go hone at 11AM, it was 102 F or 39C if you prefer it that way.  I was there yesterday and observed that by 8AM Alex A had put up 8 flight with altitudes from 115 to 127 M. Looks like he is ready for France.  Bob Piserchio had some samples of the June 2013 rubber and gave a motor to Alex which he used in one of those flights, so the rubber can't be too bad! and seemed to work as well or better than what Alex had brought out with him.  All the rubber since 2009 has been pretty good and consistant.  If anything this batch seems stronger with hte ability to take more turns.  .

Don't forget that SEN is your newsletter so one reason we have not published one for a while isbecause you have not given us stuff to publish.

For sale by Phedon
F1B

I would like to sell a brand new mechanical Vivchar F1B that has been test flown once for me by Mike Mulligan and stored in pristine condition until now that I have decided to sell it. I am asking $1,000.
( one thousand). If interested please email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Thanks, Phedon.

F1G

have the following brand new never flown  coupe components.

  2 complete tailbooms
  1 stab
  2  complete fuselages
3 complete propeller front end assemblies.
3 wings
4 sets of prop. blades
1 complete extra pylon
1 bag of hooks, pegs. sleeves and lots more as spare parts.

I am asking $ 500 for the entire lot of F1G parts because the wing tips suffered very slight damage. Just the rounded balsa tip block was affected. The last tip rib is OK. My price is unbeatable anywhere . Thanks again, Phedon.

LOST Hills Update

The Lost Hills committee, with the help of some locals has turned up a number of different possibilities for flying in the area that would avoid the new trees.  These are requiring some work and visits to look at the different sites and figure the implications of each location.  They are working it and will get back to us in due course..  It is very encouraging that there is more than one alternative

Fall Events

The California FAI Invitational and Sierra Cup will be sharing the Columbus day weekend - Details to follow.
