SW FAI Challenge - this weekend

Hi Roger,

The RV is out front and we are loading up for Boulder City. From the e-mail I'm receiving, it looks like we will have a few newcomers to the Southwest FAI Challenge....those looking for Junior Team points, AmCup points or just scouting the field out for the Finals in 2014. (Not a done deal yet).

The weather report looks spectacular with a high both days of 81, a low of 59 at 8 AM, and a max wind gust speed for the entire weekend at 9 MPH.

Bob Beecroft and I should arrive before 4PM on Thursday. If you want to check in or find us on the lakebed, my cell number is (760) 889-3201.
Thanks!
 Bill Booth

 Fab Feb Update

We are on track for 3 World Cup events at Lost Hills this Feb. Starting with the Kiwi Cup, hosted by the Ike on 8 Feb. The Canadian Pan American event on the Tues and  the Maxmen International from Friday 14 Feb to the reserve day of Monday 17 Feb. Full details of these events will appear shortly with info on how to pre-enter.

In addition to these regular FAI events the Ike will host some exciting new events with guest celebrity organizers.

Ralph Ray will run The Paul MacCready Human Powered World Championships for  Hand Held Catapult Glider and Hand Launch Glider.  This is your chance to go mano a mano with the World's best in this class , or prove that you are the World's best!

The new and very popular, NFFS invented,  E 36 class will have one of it's main supporters, Don Deloach run the  E-36 World Open. This event will have a regular E-36 contest plus a early AM  one flight to the ground all for Global bragging rights.
.

Full details and rules will be published real soon now.

Both of these events will have substantial cash prizes plus bling and merchandise  prizes.  Visitors from outside the USA are encouraged to take part in these events.  Because of the typical February weather and generous Ike Schedule doing these events and the Kiwi Cup should be no problem.

And if you don't win the McCready event Ralph and Stan will run a HLG/CLG glider clinic on Monday (if enough people sign up either before or during the contest) so you can win it next time.  Gliders should be available.
