Denver Doodles
The MMM 14 rounder and USA's 3rd World Cup event just finished. As expected a well run event with Jerry Murphy and MMM president Mark Sisk leading with help by numerous club members.
They even had loaner chase bike for those who travelled by air. Much appreciated.
World Cup vistors from outside of the USA included a team of Canadians and Rene Limberger from Germany. Rene won here before when he was living in the USA and got a coveted Blue jacket that time, this time he was the F1A winner but missed out on the Jacket.
First time MMM participant Charle Jones won F1B and was the only person who was clean so collects a Blue Master Sportsman Jacket for the achievement. As well as a gatorade shower in true Denver sporting tradition. The 8 round F1G event was won by Tiffenay O'Dell also with a full hous. Both great achievements. I already asked Charlie to include some of that Denver Rubber in my next order to FAI Model Supply, although Blake Jensen thinks Charlie used it all in this event!
The F1C turnout was disappointing, I think I saw local Roland Soloman flying but not sure how he got on. On the Q front some of the locals flew their E36 models in F1Q but seemed to have some trouble with wind on a couple of the rounds. Over all the weather was good, a couple of rounds were a little breezy but I did not experience any problems with my F1B.
As is typical with this event there are times when the lift is a bit tricky and there are some huge thermals. A RDT certainly helped when the model was almost specking out straight overhead.
This is a tough event and a combination of altitude, thermal condition ans the rolling terrain makes it tough so all the more congrats to the winners. Full results will appear in dues course.
Great first time World Cup and we had a great time and in addition enjoyed some of the other vacation things that Colorado has to offer.
