Hummer AWOL
From: The Duke
Roger
I inadvertently dumped a message from a guy who is looking for a Hummer. I do not know who it was and cannot retirieve it. I do not want to disappoint him. The e-mail was written after 5:30 4-21-09 and before 9:45.
Please try again, whoever you are.
Thx
Doug Galbreath

Odd Bits and Pieces
At the San Valeers Annual, Lost Hills was already scorched, looks like being a dusty year.
Lesson learned from the San Valeers Annual - was Bernie Crowe was not feeling well on the field and friends took him to the Lost Hills fire station. A quick check by the paramedics had him om the way to a hospital in Bakersfield. The paramedics gav Norm Furutani and map and said he could follow to see how Bernie was doing. Norm followed but when the came to the first red light the ambulance went straight through. On looking Norm saw a big truck coming do decided discrection was the better part of valor so waited - in conclusion it's quite a way to Bakersfield and and ambulance can get you there much faster than you so if it's critical get help at the Lost Hills fire station. Last time I heard Bernie was Ok but having some tests done.
More Vintage FAI power flyers than real ones? and the SV Ann? - at least more real F1B than nostalgia. Did see Juan Livotto with a very nice Nos Wakefield - the Latino name was too long for me to remember. Although at the SV Annual, which is real?
Did see an increasing number of Cat and DL Gliders - Saw Normy with a nice cat - not no discuss yet? A number of more people are using Ken Bauer's Radio D/T in their cat gliders and no regular d/t.
On the F1B from the smart technology front was the power winder used by Sevak Malykasian. At 11 years old and quite slight build Sevak just can't get full turns on a 26 strand motor, so Dad George adapted an electric drill. I saw a similar device used last year in France by a young lady who was a member of the Polish Junior team and Jnr F1B World Cup Winner. You can't feel the rubber the same as hand winding but it's a whole better than severely under winding.
