Americas Cup Update
I'm still wrapping up the 2007 AmCup season. If anyone can provide Bob Hanford's (2007 F1P winner) contact information, please send to my email below. He did not attend the banquet to receive the perpetual Trophy, award and certificate. Bob is new to the AmCup ‘scene’. I apologize for not better communicating to Bob about the banquet and awards. The new location for the Banquet at the Wasco Elk’s lodge worked out well and I anticipate we’ll be returning in 2009.
We are 10% into the 2008 Am Cup already. The SWR and the two LH contests had some outstanding weather this year making for some wonderful flying and exciting fly-offs. Many of the current winners have posted wins; Rene Limberger (F1A), Bob Hanford (F1P), Brian VanNest (F1H), Frank Pollard (F1Q), and Peter Brocks (F1P). However, none of these 2007 winners other than Frank Pollard are in the lead now but there are 27 more contests and 10 more months to go. Frank is the only two contest winner so he’s off to a strong start but will have to win at sites other than Lost Hills now.
Note to CD’s and clubs, the $25 AmCup sanction fees are due April 1, 2007—No Joke! Please send to; Jim Parker 9524 Ruffner Ave, Northridge, CA 91343. Checks payable to SCAT. Thanks to those who have paid.
A note about contest results. The best method is to submit to SEN for publishing. That way I’m working to the same info everyone else is seeing. You can cc me on the email to Roger Morrell (M.r SEN). The preferred format is the complete per round scores with totals. An Excel spreadsheet is the best format. For the World Cup events, George Batiuk and Mike McKeever are kind enough to indicate non-Canadian, Mexican and USA flyers. Tthe other contests I can usually decipher the foreign flyers but a note in the text write-up is helpful as well. 2008 is a non-Jr team selection year so it is nice but not required to designate the junior flyers. Please list separately or designate the events for combined events—it is becoming more popular to fly F1P and F1C together. I will take paper copies via USPS.
SCAT Annual at Lost Hills is the next contest—hoping for some more great weather. Corrections to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Thanks for the F1Q rules Roger. Are there no restrictions as to model or
motor? - Ed Mate
Ed, the sporting code is the rules - it's all there, I'm a simple rubber flyer and can't read, but you probably can.

David smites Goliath.
Last night a team of steely-eyed, MagnificentMountain Men snatched victory from the cold, sharp talons of defeat. It is true; they saved the field--and motorbike use on it--for at least the next 12 months! After 2008 we will be on a year-to-year lease with the motorbike issue up for review each year.
So please spread the good news, and make plans to attend our major contest weekends in 2008. The 14-Rounder & HLG “Ruckus in the Rockies” is June 27-28-29 and the 43rd Rocky Mountain FF Champs is August 30-31-Sept. 1. Both are America’s and National Cup sanctioned, Category 2, Class AAA. This might be the last year you’ll have the opportunity to fly on our 27,000-acre field.
