Sorry, mea cupa, mea cupa, mea maxima cupa to you and SEN for using all caps. On the Prototype Zipper my mission nearly accomplished. AMA has properly labeled it but somehow I must get to Chuck Schooley to correct his to proper name, Prototype Zipper or Gas Bird. Can anyone help here? Sorry again, Ed Mate

The new BMFA Free Flight Forum is now available in the US. NFFS Publications Services has received 70 copies of the new Forum and they are ready for sale. This popular publication was printed in Davis, CA by The Printer and is bound with a plastic binder, as it was last year. The new book features a typical list of articles of interest to free flighters both indoor and out. Contains 104 pages covering all classes of models, including a review of the changes in rules for British competition (No Builder of the Model Rule any longer!!).
Order from NFFS Publications, PO Box 1775, Albany, OR 97321. Cost is $25 per copy plus $5.00 shipping in the US. If you want to combine orders, I can ship two books for the cost of one. See the NFFS website (Freeflight.org) for details on other available publications.
Also, if you placed an anticipitory order earlier, it will be in the mail in a day or two.
Thanks,
Bob Stalick. <This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.>
FAI CHALLANGE
AUGUST 18th 2007 F1 GHJ & Q
AUGUST 19th 2007 F1 ABC&P
THE SAME WEEKEND AS THE NWFF CHAMPS
AT PARKERS FIELD SOUTH OF ALBANY, OR.
SCHEDULE:7 ROUNDS F1 ABC & P 5 ROUNDS F1 GHJ&Q
F1 GHJ & Q FRIDAY AUG 18th 1Hr 30 Min ROUNDS ON THE HOUR BEGINNING AT 7:00AM. FLY OFFS TO FOLLOW (extra round time to fly both mini contests)
F1 ABC&P SATURDAY AUG 19th 1Hr ROUNDS BEGINNING AT 7:30AM. FLY OFFS TO FOLLOW
Contestants must adhere to field/retrieval rules or face Disqualification from the meet.
Hopefully this has gotten to everyone before the PreNats / Nats and that you are making your plans and preparing your models and yourself for these competitions. The last day to registrar for the PreNats contest at no cost is July 1. George Batiuk or Art Ellis will take late entries on the field, Saturday, July 28 with a late fee. All three events, F1A,B and P will be flown at the PreNats on Sunday, July 29. See the program posted on the NFFs web site for more details. Then the regular Nat event, F1A is the next day, Monday, July 30. There are no Jr Team Selection events on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Aug. 1, both F1B and F1P are flown. The Nats events are flown to the rules set by the Nats CD. Note, for F1P, the PreNats will be flown with the engine run that will be used at the next Jr World Champs in 2008, which will be 7 seconds with 3 minute maxes. The current F1P engine run for 2007 is 10 seconds and the Nats will likely use the 10 second engine. The NATs organizers and the Jr Team Selection Committee may decide to use the 7 second engine run as will. If they do they will clearly inform the flyers before the start of the competition on Wednesday.
Remember you need to fly at both the PreNats and your event at the Nats to make the Jr Team. The AmCup portion of the team selection can be done through the end of the year. That is, the remaining 2007 AmCup and Jr Plus contests after the Nats can be flown and scores will count in the final Jr Team Selection scores.
Below are the current Jr AmCup / JrPlus contest scores I have recorded. The Minnesota Jr+ plus contest will be recorded next time. Remember all Jr scores are recorded until the Pre-Nats / Nats. Thereafter only those officially entered into the Jr Team Selection Program will be reported. I know of one young modeler that has taken Walt Ghio up on his F1B Jr development program and I hope others have as well and will be ready to fly at the PreNats / Nats. At this point three Jrs have the 200 points maximum from two AmCup contests. Everyone will be striving to get 100 points from each of the Pre-Nats and Nats. Total maximum point’s possible is 400. If you would like the Excel score sheet to track your own scores, send me an email but I will not be able to send them out until I get back from the Ukraine where I’ll be helping the big boys bring home some FAI FF Gold!
