Contest Notice: Bisssonnette Memorial
=====================================

The Bissonnette Memorial will be held on June 25th and 26th this year. Due
to the World Championships being held at the end of May we have moved "Big
Al's" contest to the end of June. Next year we will return to Memorial Day
weekend for this contest. To help promote F1P we will be having Junior and
Open contest both days with separate awards. Again, we will have Big Al's
Shootout on Sunday morning.

FIRE DANGER: Mother Nature has replaced the bare land of Lost Hills with
some high grass that will be very dry at the end of June. We need to watch
our motorcycles when chasing the models. The foxtails will collect around
the exhaust and can be a problem. Also, we need to be careful around the
car park and the starting line.

The flyoffs for the Sierra Championships were held this past weekend at Lost
Hills. In F1A Mike McKeever edged out Pierre Brun 318 seconds to 314
seconds. Roger Morrell was the winner in F1B over Bill Booth and Rich
Rohrke. Both events required binoculars to see the flights with the drift
that was present.

Subject: Frank Zaic

Bill,
I got a letter from John Worth, who heard from Carmen Zaic that Frank
is in bad shape and John suggests he may be on the way out. I want to
publish a story in SAM Speaks about Frank, and wonder if you are
interested in writing it or contributing to it. We need photos,
anecdotes, etc which may not be contained in the voluminous AMA
biography, a copy of which we have.
Thanks,
BA

Bruce,

Jean and I will write something on our own. I will also put a notice in
the SCAT Electronic News. Before they went to Guatamala, Carmen told
us Frank had Alzheimer's disease. We are asking for responses from
SCAT members to be mailed to you.

Hello Roger,

Would you please announce to the freeflight community the following:

Renowned triple discipline former FAI world champion Thomas Koster is
recouperating in a Danish hospital from the affects of a brain aneurism
he experienced two weeks ago. He spent this time in intensive care in
Copenhagen and has since been transferred to a smaller local hospital
for rehabilitation which doctors estimate could take as long as three
months. In spite of a temporary loss of sight, hearing and motion, he is
now expected to make a full and complete recovery.

Good news. Surgery went very well. He is now the proud owner of a new
mechanical heart valve. I just talked to his nurse and they have
removed his breathing tube and expect him to be able to sit up tomorrow.
He will be in ICU for three more days. Then in progressive care for
three or four days.

He will be so glad to come home.

Thanks for all your good thoughts.

Linda

2006 Jr Team Selection Information Bulletin Number 4 May 2005
=====================================================================

Following are the 2005-2006 Jr Team Selection results of the first four
AmCup Contests. These have been western contests. The first eastern contest was
flown this past weekend. The point system has changed from a total of 100 used
on the last program to the current 400 points. 200 max points total for two
AmCup/ Plus contests (100 max point each) and 200 points for the pre-Nats
+Nats.
Note that these results were pulled from the contest records and DOES NOT
indicate if the Jr has entered the program or not. This is done so that it may
motivate some young flyers to consider participation in the program if they
have not done so yet. After the NATs, only those officially registered
through AMA will be reported. See NFFs web site on
Competition / Junior for the
Program details including registration. There is no cost for registration. Also
note that I was the best information for age requirement.
Please drop me a line with any corrections.
The April 30 deadline for Jr AmCup Plus contest has come and gone with no
new offers. Therefore the previously announced contest, MaxMen Summer and the
Orville and Wilber contest will be the only "Plus" contest for this cycle.
The pre-Nats details and the F1P Nats details are being finalized. Its time
to get serious about your NATs plans.
Jr Team Selection scores for SW Regional, MaxMen, Scat Annual and NorCal.
Future reports will be via EXCEL spread sheet posted on NFFs web site and by
email requests.

Can anyone tell my why old records are killed and buried. I have Junoir
A and Senior A R.O.W. records much higher than present records. I
realize rules have changed. But have they changed THAT much? Bob
Stalick put me down for a 2005 FF Forum please. Ed Mate
