Dear Sir,
I am an Itaian aeromodeler, and I am looking for a building plan
of an old timer model aircraft named DENNYPLANE. Can you
help me to find a source? On January issue of MODEL
AIRPLANE NEWS is indicated a company called 4K, do you
have the address?

The Baltimore Aero- Craftsmen will be hosting the 51st annual Inter- City
meet June 24 -25, 2000 at the AMA field in Muncie, IN.
This is an America's Cup contest.

Dear Roger,
As you know the key to running a good contest is to follow the rules and
have someone that understands FAI to run it. The last year at the FF champs
Guy Mennano volunteered to run the FAI stuff and I believe it helped a lot.
In the previous years when the FAI events at the FF champs were not run by
the SCAT club or an active FAI flyer I think it suffered as a result since
no one was overseeing it to make sure it was run properly.
For the AMA gas stuff that I usually fly the rules are simple enough that it
is much easier to run without a lot of effort.
I think the key to the FAI events being well run is for someone to help
oversee or run the FAI stuff at the champs that will give it the attention
it requires. I think it is in the best interest of the SCAT club to help
ensure that this happens either by volunteering to oversee these events or
making sure that someone is in charge that will.
With regards to Vegas I wasn't trying to slight that contest since I only
heard that the F1C didn't get much of a turnout. I know it is a good field
to fly on.
I am happy that the FF champs is back on the slate as an America cup
contest!
Thermals,
Terry Thorkildsen
[Terry - The FAI events at the FF Champs will be run by SCAT or George Batiuk.
Guy did do a good job last year. I know what the problems was in
previous years but do not really want to go into it in detail.
We do not understand why the F1C turnout in Nevada is low - we make
jokes about contests not being on the F1C list. I guess this one is
not and event the free prickly pear jelly does not help.
This means that for some
reason the local guys do not participate - except for Doug Joyce.
But then Doug does do things the other way around.
My observation is that all this does is help the guys from the
East [anywhere past Riverside is East] like Henry Spence, Bob Gutai
Gil Morris and Ed Keck - not that those guys need much help!]

Roger,
Running a bit late in responses, but Doug=92s comments on decades of modeling
got me thinking. First models I flew were little dime scale rubber powered
jobs you purchased at the local candy store. First power model was a
Spearhead Jr. with an O & R .19. Just finishing up my 6th decade and going
to start my 7th, wonder if I will catch Brodersen. Sorry to hear about guys
dropping out of F1C. If Phil needs any parts for his F1Cs, I can pass on some
stuff for him to stay in the hunt.
I'll help were I can to keep them in.
