Just talked to John Clapp. He said accorded to the rules we can't hold two
America Cup contests on our new field. After all the jaw nashing over the
loss of Galesville I still don't understand why. So explain to me in simple
language why no.
Thermals Brooks
[America's Cup Status is not given to every FAI contest. There are a
limited number. In fact most of the contests that were at Galeville
were moved to Higgs Farm MD [the Easter States FF Champs and
Skyscrapers Annual] and to Munice [Baltimore Aero Craftsman].
So there was no reduction in the number of contests. The contest
should have a proven history. Status has been given to new
contests in an areas where there was not contest i.e Las Vegas
but there are now quite a number in the Northeast.]

I agree with mike on putting the rule changes on the net. Has this happened.
If so, who knows the .com to get it. I would like to get them now so I can
start to bitch.
My God, Hardy is even older than I thought. He may well be the king of
modelers in terms of decades. I have only flown models in seven decades. (I
sort of flew a glider the other day). It could be that some of the guys who
have done it in 8 decades just can't remember.

I would be pleased to publish anyone's ptoposed rules changes -
together with arguments for and against.
I believe that all proposals should be published in advance so that
delgates can get the proper instructions from their national Aero Clubs.
It also lets the active members of the FF community give their input
to their National Aero Club.]

My good friend Bill is not authoring this reply, about what has
been seen on today's scat. What I see is a bunch of old pudknockers
yacking away, like a bunch of sociable crows, cawing, on a fence post,
occasionally raising one leg and then another, ruffling their feathers,
reliving their glory days, of triumph and ridicule, as if, waiting for the
wind, to come their way. Hopefully, to wing bound them in flight,
a glorious flight, so they can assend ,to heigths, of clean and
unpolluted air and be about soaring ways,
hearing only the silence of peacefull thaught, only disturbed, by the slips and
streams ,of the audible air of flight. How much more could crows want, it must
be avion nature.

Just saw the new movie "The Talented Mr. Ripley". In the scene at an outdoor
jazz festival one of the players in the jazz group is none other than tenor
saxaphonist and Wakefield theoretician Peter King. Excellent movie and
soundtrack. Louis Joyner

Reid Simpson,
Reid was taken ill at Eloy and rushed to the hospital - I understand
that the crash of one of his F1Cs precipitated this medical emergency.
After some rest Reid was able to fly home to Texas where they will
treat the problem.
