Roger,
Accurate timing of engine runs is an on going issue, the human factor
being an important ingredient in the result.
Control line speed models face similar issues, requiring accurate timing
of a short duration, and an electronic timing system has been developed
for this.
I know that it does not relate directly to Free Flight, but some of the
problems and solutions may be of issue to SEN readers, for more information
check out this link.

Just wondering who is going to the MMM FAI Contest in Denver on July 1-2?
I am leaning toward the "go" side and if others show interest it will make a
better event naturally.
Possibly we can share travel costs?
I hear the Davis boys and Dick Wood are planning to be there, so y'all
come too!
Hope to see you there.

hi,
Can people who are using Calibrated torque meters when winding their
F1B models please post their figures for max torque, how many strands (or
what motor length) are they using, and any additional information they
have on their rubber ( i.e. date, specific energy if measured, conditions
when measuring/winding ( temperature) etc.)
thanks,
Niv
