Potential Solution to the F1C Overrun Time

To : scat
At the last World Champs we had many problems with the timers calling
overruns on our F1C team. In the typical mass launch they could not hear
the engine stop and they waited for the bunt to be sure the engine had
stopped.

The timers need a visual queue to indicate the engine has stopped. One
solution to the problem would be to have the model pitch over to a less
vertical climb angle as the engine stops, then to continue to climb at a 60
to 70 degree angle until it slows down for the bunt.

This could be accomplished easily with an electronic timer. The Timer
Phases would be 1. Ready 2. Press to Test 3. Engine Run 4. Pitch Over 5.
Cruise 6. Bunt 7. Fast Glide 6. Slow Glide 7. Extended Glide 8. D T

With independent rudder and stab positions for each phase.

This looks like another good reason to switch to electronic timers.
