Because this is not all that well know, here is the transcript of a recent conversation I had with Ian Kaynes about this ranking.

What is the basis of the FAI ranking list.  I got a question about it and was not sure if it was something that the FAI originated or if it was some work that was done in the UK?

The rules were proposed to the CIAM Plenary meeting in 2013 and passed. They are now in the 2014 Sporting Code volume F1 as Annex 4 (although I now notice that in the list of contents the old Technical Secretary incorrectly listed it as “World Cup Ranking”)

STONEHENGE CUP-EQUINOX CUP

The Free Flight Technical Committee of the British Model Flying Association has rescheduled the 2014 Stonehenge Cup and combined it with the 2014 Equinox Cup in accordance with the following details:-

STONEHENGE CUP-EQUINOX CUP
    Salisbury Plain UK on 27/28th September 2014

    1/     The Stonehenge cup will be run as a one day event on Saturday 27th September 2014, and the Equinox Cup will now become a one day event on the next day, Sunday 28th September 2014.

    2/    Each of these two events will be held on Area 8 of Salisbury Plain and will each comprise F1A, F1B, F1C/P & F1Q flown simultaneously in five rounds.

    3/   Each event will be ‘FREE ENTRY’-no fees.

    4/    All those who entered the Stonehenge Cup will be automatically included on the entry list for the Stonehenge Cup and the Equinox Cup. Any competitors who did not previously enter but wishes to compete in either or both events need to register with John Carter at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by not later than Friday 19th September 2014  giving details of Name, Nationality, FAI Number, Address, Email Address and the Event(s) they wish to enter.

    5/    All competitors must hold a current FAI License.

Skyscrapers Annual

Dear Free Flight Friends:

The Skyscraper Annual (Americas Cup, National Cup, run by the Brooklyn
Skyscrapers) is taking place at Barron Field, Wawayanda, New York,
Sat&Sun. June 21 and June 22. It has FAI,AMA and NFFS events with
Dave Acton, CD. The FAI events are in rounds, with F1G,H,J,Q
saturday starting at 9:30am and F1A,B,C,P sunday with one hour
rounds starting at 7:30am (with no round overlap for the sunday FAI
events). The AMA/NFFS events are HLG, CAT, Mulvihill, P-30, Dawn
Unlimited, E-36, Electric B, 1/2A,AB Classic Gas/ Nostalgia Gas,
Classic Towline, Pee-Wee 30 Gas, 1/4A Nostalgia/.020 Oldtime replica.
Dawn Unlimited is Sunday 6:45am to 7am.  The AMA/NFFS events are
Saturday May 31, 9am-5pm and Sunday June 1: 8am-3pm and may be flown
either day, though there is a preferred day for each for National Cup
