France Flash

First day of First World Cup Contest

Don't have full results yet but

Not too Hot and quite windy, particularly in round 5. Some showers at the end of round 5.

little late in starting, lots of late entries and no-shows, later probably because of weather.  Because of the extra late entries many poles had six people so the round times had to be extended, even though quite a number did not show. two items that the organizers could not have easily anticipated and still accomdate those who wanted to fly.

By round 5 only 3 clean
Bulatov,, Chenau and P Seifert. Not sure how it came out, nor how many rounds were complete.
I guessed that in the 5 rounds I flew I probably walked close to 20KM.  Not many flew past the 5th round.
Your editor, Paul Lagan and Bill Booth were among those who dropped round 5.  Very windy and my model was blown all over the sky, in spite of picking calmest gap. Most of the USA flyers gave the  miss and the only other fly, Charlie Jones dropped earlier.  While I did not measure the wind it was probably ove the 9 m/sec.  By this time  many people had dropped out.  I missed the sunflowers but copped 4 wheat fields

F1C fared better with a number blasting through the wind.

In F1Q there were only 3, none clean and not resolved when I left the field.

In the F1H event only Vasily and Thomas Weimer maxed out and the next in order were
Tribe
Jim Parker
Madelin
Per Findahl
Crisp
etc ....
