Looking for good homes
I've started my professional modeling career and starting to clean out the garage (a required retirement project). I had brought in some of our late friend Martyn Cowley's F1A modeling things which I have worked within the FAI fraternity to distribute.
One item that ended up in my garage is a Tomboy laser cut short kit of wing ribs, stab ribs and fuselage bulkheads. This is a .5 to 1 cc diesel model (Martyn loved diesels). It was designed by V.E, Smeed and published in Nov. 1950 Aeromodeler. There are Tomboy, Tomboy Senior and Tomboy-3 plans (not full size). Martyn did a copy machine enlargement to full size (8.5" x 11" sheets taped together) of the original 1950 plans.
I also have for free:
A roll of 1/8 mil clear mylar that could be of use to the indoor folk to give away.
A box of silk span cream white, lite weight, 24" x 18", approx 25 sheets and 18" x 12", aprox 300 sheets.
Model Box: 61" long, 12" x 12". Construction: out 1/8 ply- 1/4 frame- 1/8 ply inner (hollow core construction)-- light for the size. Top is 1/2 thick. Great for larger AMA one piece wing models-- F1P.
Photos and news from down under
Bad news for 2014 is that the Omarama field in New Zealand that has been used for World Cup events for many years is no longer available for model flying because of changing farming operations. The Free Flight special interest group FFONZ has identified other potential sites but not possible for 2014. The Australian Free Flighters has moved their World Cup events to dates after the Easter Holidays. This is avoid accomodation conflicts with a Hot Rod event that is held at Narrandera over Easter and because the weather a little later in the year is better. The is possible that one of the New Zealand will be flown at Narrandera just before the 2 Australian World Cups. Dates soon.
As in recent years one of the World Cups from New Zealand will be hosted by the Isaacson Winter Classic, part of the Fab Feb Free Flight week at Lost Hills long with the Pan American and the Maxmen International. Details soon.
FFONZ is also working with the MMM club in Colorado, USA to have the 3rd NZ World Cup in Denver this summer along with the 3rd USA Wolrd Cup event. Giving people 2 World Cup events for their summer travel dollars. Details on this soon too.
Hi ,
Some of you readers might be interested in my 'Sale' as follows :
For Sale by John O'Donnell. The residue of my Tan 2 October 1997 rubber, 1/8 inch wide (unused and sensibly stored) is being offered on E Bay - using the description "flying model rubber power Tan 2 "
There are 2 separate lots, of 1020 and 80 gms, that were brought by different routes. Hence separate lots.
I have used this rubber successfully during the 1997 to 2012 period, and it is now available simply because I have retired from Competion flying.
The E Bay auction will be open for 10 days as of now.
Hope you can include this in SEN. Many thanks.
Best Wishes,
John O'Donnell
