Motel 6 in Lost Hills

Motel 6 in Lost Hills has been  purchased by a franchise and will no longer
be a corporation owned and operated by Motel 6. The transfer of ownership
will take place by the end of January. What this means to us is, if you've
made reservations for the February contests, I would advise you to call
Motel 6 in February to confirm that your reservations are still good. The
person I spoke to said she didn't guarantee that they would be kept as they
are coming in and basically wiping the slate clean with the new owners.
She's hoping it will be a smooth transition but she doesn't know for sure
how's it all going to be handled.

Looking for hard AL foil

I would like to buy  about 20 to 30 ft of .001 aluminum foil. I have lots of .0013 I am building
new wings to correct a weight problem so the small decrease in thickness will help.

Fab Feb and Stan's Stuff

I just got the word from Stan Buddenbohm that if you're coming to the Fab Feb World cup and want to save money on outrageous international shipping by carrying them back be sure to contact Stan ahead of time so he can be certain to have what you need on the field. Stan's catalog is online at http://discuskid.com/BuddenbohmProducts.aspx. Stan and his flying buddy Ralph Ray will be taking part in the HLG and CLG events at the Ike Winter Classic so you can see them in action. Stan does have e-mail at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. but that's not his strong suit. From the cheapest kits for beginners to the top of the line DLG and CLG models these are great designs, quality kits with excellent wood that are the best in their class.

Magic Stuff

Same as with Stan, Magic Timers will be at the Fab Feb events but if you are wanting timers or accessories be sure to ask us in advance at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. so we can bring what you need.

Found some more 2011 NFFS Symposia

Hi, Roger;
Doug Galbreath contacted me yesterday to inform me that he had located a
few 2011 Symposia, but that they had a few blemishes on the covers. He is
shipping them to me, and I expect to have them ready to complete orders early
next week. Here are the details:
These are now available from NFFS Publications Services, PO Box 1775,
Albany, OR 97321. The cost is $30 per copy plus shipping of $5 in the USA.
Overseas shipping is higher. When this supply is exhausted, none remain. Buy them
online at <freeflight.org> or directly from NFFS, address above. Contact

Icarex PLus

I'm not an FAIer but I did cover a C nostalgia with Icarex. Had some wing flutter as the speed built up. Solution...Covered over the Icarex with tissue. Did it just like an open structure...sealed the edges ...sprayed with water...and applied a couple coats of dope. Solved the flutter...tough as nails.
