Skyscraper International Challenge

Dear Free Flight Friends,

Here are results from the FAI events at the Skyscraper International Challenge last month.  Highlights were the F1G battle in which Tom Vaccaro edged Kathy Radziunas with last flight drama, as both were maxed out heading into that round. In F1B, Ron Felix maxed out to finish ahead of Aram Schlossberg, while last flight woes pushed back Tom Vaccaro and Sarah Radziunas and prevented an anticipated flyoff.  In F1Q Dave Lacey had an impressive performance maxing out for the win, ahead of Rich Ivers for whom damage to his model prevented continuing his string of maxes.  In F1C Andrei Kirilenko continued his steady flying with a max-out, likewise for Brian Pacelli with a max-out in F1P.

I wish to acknowledge Bob Hatschek, a driving force and commanding presence for many years of Skyscraper Challenge organization and flying. In this last year he has needed to cut back on his flying and it is the first year in my recollection that we have not had the dynamic of him at the flight-line in the hunt for F1G or other events.  What is that dynamic of Bob Hatschek in Free Flight? Consider part of his 1962 poem in which he writes that Free Flight is ''A thrill, a challenge, a puzzlement. It's other guys like you, the world around, striving for the same graceful beauty of flight.  It's comradeship across all human barriers. It's bull sessions through the wee hours. It's fierce competition with the highest of sportsmanship...  'Free as a bird' describes God's most unchained creation. Man's is a model airplane soaring birdlike in a thermal... Vicariously you soar with it...with its freedom.''

Here are the FAI results for the challenge this year.

Who can help Pim to remember ?
During the World Champ's in Argentina I received  a small parcel with mini voltmeters. This parcel had to be handed over to Henning Nyhegn from Denmark.
I have given the voltmeters to Henning but I am embarrassed not able to tell Henning who gave them to me!
Please can the modeler who gave me the parcel with the voltmeters let us know by sending  me or Henning a mail: This email address is being protected from spambots. Thank you in advance,
