Roger,
The SCAT Club requests help from SEN general readership.
If anyone has a photo of Bob Isaacson's 'Trojan Spirit'[his #15 model]
OR a drawing of same model, please contact Jim Parker, myself or any
SCAT club member.
We have the model and want to present it to the AMA Museum, but want to
also submit pix and any other info as text documentation.
All input would be appreciated.

hi, i am new to the free flight hobby. and am trying
to get some tan 2 rubber before it is all gone. i was
told to look for outdoor flyers who only use the
rubber once and try to get it from them after they use
it. i was curious if you know anyone that had any?
or how i could post to your list asking. thanks so
much

Roger:
Regarding my bit on compass variation: obviously I should have written
the word "degrees" instead of using the windows degree symbol. The what
came out "=3DBA" should be read "degrees".

For those planning or considering coming to the Skyscraper
Challenge, here is some helpful information.
First concerning the weather, the latest information from
various sources (e.g. Weather.com) shows that Sunday May 25
weather in the Middletown, NY area is likely to be VERY NICE.
Temperature 72 degrees, sunny (UV8), and winds from the SSW
at only about 8 mph (typically even less in the morning).
That wind direction is a good one as it permits flights to
use the longest portion of the field. As for rain, it shows
only a 30% chance of scattered showers on Sunday.
Saturday is another matter. It appears that the weather has a
reasonable chance of being flyable in the morning, but the
afternoon looks bad (high winds, rain likely). I talked
this evening with each of the event CDs: AMA CD Dave Acton,
FAC CD Ed Pelatowski, and FAI CDs Aram Schlosberg and myself.
While retaining all the originally anounced opportunities we
are now providing some additional flexibility.
For the AMA, Nostalgia, and FAC events flyers are now permitted
to fly them either day, with Sunday especially encouraged. That
is reflected now in the details below.
For FAI mini events, flyers are expected to gather for the 9am
Saturday morning first round, per the announced schedule.
Weather permitting, we will get at least some if not all of
the mini-event rounds completed Saturday, and finish them
up Sunday morning if need be.
For FAI maxi events, it looks like the existing schedule will
work well. Flyers are expected to gather for the 5:30pm
Saturday evening first round, per the announced schedule,
with a meeting at 5pm. The winds and rain may well have
tapered at that point, so we will evaluate the conditions
for whether to start flying then per the schedule. Expect
ideal conditions Sunday morning!
Jim Bradley is on his way from Florida, and last I heard
others were coming from as far west as Ohio.
The field is equipped with a new large canopy (thanks to
Victor Gagliano), a new welcoming sign (thanks to Carol
Barron), and many new foot bridges and flags.
In summary, Sunday looks great. Come out to a good contest!
