>From Bill Hartill's magnificent volume World Free Flight Review in
acknowledgments in part, "One cannot write the basic pervasive influence of
Frank Zaic. No other person has contributed so much to our knowledge,
comradeship and spirit of Free Flight. His teachings have sparked the vital
perceptions needed to launch the World Free Flight Review. May this work
help express my gratitude."

Frank will be 90 the first of August and will be moving thereafter to
relatives of his wife, Carmen, in Guatemala. I call upon all of you to send
Frank a short message in the spirit of free flight and camaraderie. It will
do wonders for his feeling isolated from free flight friends in recent years.

His address is 16915 Kinzie Street, Sepulveda, California 91343
His telephone number is 818 892-0201

I was an avid rubber modeler 50 years ago. I've recently returned to the =
hobby, and find it very much more complex than "the good old days". I'd =
like to register with you to catch up on today's techniques. I'm not =
sure if I want to fly FAI or not. I'm a member of NFFS, though.

Where do I fit?

I made a correction to Bill Gieskieng's entry about the MMM FAI Annual in the
previous SEN issue, but ended up making it worse: Brian Van Nest indeed had an

impressive 13 round max-out win in F1A. It was suggested, however, that this
matched Jim Bradley's accomplishment and that George Batiuk was the only
sportsman to achieve a 14 round max-out. Actually Jim did it in 1988 in F1A and
George did it in 2001 in F1B. The score is currently: MMM flying field - 400,
sportsmen - 2.

Hi to you from England,

I am wanting some information and was unsure where to look. I have a number
of back issues of old magazines from the 1940's and 1950's which I'm trying
to put a value on, with the idea of maybe selling them, but I have no idea-
apart from the wonders of the Web- of how to make contact with potential
buyers where I will be given a fair price.

The magazines are as follows;

Aeromodeller Sept 1942- 1984 Complete set
Autocar 1st issue in 1945- late 1950's -
almost complete set
Practical Car & Motor cycle Mechanic 1st issue 1954 to the end of the run-
complete set

All the magazines are typical English post war publications, in reasonable,
although not mint condition. Do you think these may be of interest to anyone
in your club, or can you point me in the direction of anyone who may be
interested??

Thanks for your time, even if you can't help me!!

Hank Nystrom of Texas Timer (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) sells such a backplate mount
for the Cox 1/2A TDs. I'm certain that he had it made to his specs. I have
no idea of the G & Z's market penetration but if it is significant Hnak might
be interested in marketing another version.

To all those who asked for details of how to make the above.

Sorry about taking so long. I tied to do a posh job with drawings inserted
into text but gave up as Microsoft Word technology is so deuced complicated
for a simple rubber flier like me!

However the instructions and drawings are attached If you cannot download
them send me your address and a SAE and I will post them to you via snail
mail.

Regards

Long flights and short retrievals to all.

John Worsley
