[For whatever it's worth the outdoor flyers seem to like this
batch. I heard a former World Champ say he was ordering an extra
ten pound box.]

W Champs Plan Book
==================
Author : This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Roger,

The solution to the World Champs plans book may be close at hand. It could
be assembled as a section of the SCAT of NFFS web pages. Modelers could
gather photos plans and text and send them to the web page editor for
publication. The tough part would be gathering data. If a list of teams
and modelers could be posted in advance, modelers could sign up to gather
info on them. It may be that such a document would be less a chronical of
different designs and more a list of modifactions to available products
anyway. The presentation would be less formal than past books, but it seems
that those interested in this project want raw data.

I know this sounds like Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland putting on a show in
the barn but it would be better than nothing.

Ross Jahnke

[Ross - as you say the hard part is gathering the data. The publication that
is intending on doing is ceindeed more nor of a low budget effort.]

BALSA FOR SALE
==============
georgewalia@earthlink,net

I ran Champion Model Products for 18 years. During
that time I found that there was a good demand for balsa sheets and sticks that

were accurately graded and sorted by weight.
In fact, I got into selling Acculab
Scales because I bought an Acculab Electronic Scale to enable me
to sort the balsa faster and more accurately. I liked that scale so much
that I decided to put the then 2 Acculab scales in my catalog. (A very
good decision!)

I retired CPM in '96,and
have since sold everything except the balsa. I thought I would use it myself,
but now I have decided that there is simply too much of it, considering how few
pieces I have used recently.

This is unstamped
Sig balsa. I paid extra to get Sig balsa, because I think Sig has the best
sanding machines in the business (built by Sigafuse himself).
It is all 3" X 36 "
and each piece is sorted and bundled by 7 weights---XL (Under 6
lbs) to XH (over 14 lbs). There are 3 Sig cartons containing 1232 sheets of
1/32 up through 1/4. Of the 1232, there are 275 sheets of beautiful XL.
There is
also a good quantity of odd size pieces (ex. 9 sheets of light 1/4 X 4 X 24)
that I will throw in. I do not claim that every piece is perfect. What
I have is typical of what you get when you order from Sig or any other
source. Most of it, however, is quite good.

Going by the current retail
prices posted on Sig's web site, this balsa today would cost
approximately $1900. I want to sell all of it at once and not bit by
bit, so I'm asking a very low price: $695. If I need to ship
it, I will add whatever that will cost.

Anyone interested here in
So Cal is welcome to come out and look it over. I'll even consider any
reasonable offer. I can also mail a page that details the inventory
of the 1232 sheets that I am charging for.
