This is the SCAT Electronic news. It object is to support Free Flight
Model Airplanes. It is e-mailed out on an irregular basis whenever
'enough' news is collected. It is published in conjunction with the SCAT
Online web site at http://www.aeromodel.com/scat There is no charge
for receiving SEN.

Any information of interest to FAI Free Flighters is welome, contest
announcements, contest results, product information, technology
information, comments on rules etc.
Images are better submitted in GIF or JPEG formats
as they are smaller [than BMP].
The best format is plan text. with a maximum number of characters
per line of 75. If you prepare you document in a word processor,
set the font to 12pt courier. The save the document
as plain text with line breaks. Typically this will be a .txt
file.
Then paste this into your e-mail.
For the results they can be in the same format or in an
Excel spread sheet.
If you just started getting this it is because some else suggested
it, you asked for it or you logged on to the SCAT Web site
and indicated a prference for FAI FF events.

Roger, one of the best meets I ever was at was the 5,5,5 finals over 3 days
with fly-offs at the end. It was great, even though I haven't yet attended a
MaxMen 14 rounder it is the top of all the meets, it has to stay Joe Wagner

Fellow SCATzine readers,
What is the joke about the following FAI rules?
Tow lines down to ten meters, rubber motors down to 10 grams and engine run
to 3 secs. Flyers are allowed to wear only one shoe and must carry a
30-pound backpack which cannot be used for flapping. No fluid drinking or
food consumption allowed all day. Flyers have to team up to fly and chase
with one leg tied together. For each drop you have to repay the entry; to
stop flying you have to pay 3 entries.
Wait just a minute cause I thought these ARE the current rules, no wonder I
was falling down so much towing my glider, 10 meters was tough to control,
and my rapper baggy pants were needed cause I had to carry the bandage for
the one foot that didn't have a shoe on it. Hell, I had at least 60lbs of
gear in my pants, I'm referring to modeling gear of course!, the guys
carrying 30lbs had it easy. I never did break the no flapping rule but I
tried to compensate by blowing upwards under my model but it always made me
hyper ventilate and pass out. Darn, I always had trouble paying attention in
class when I was a kid, no wonder I've been flying under the wrong rules. I
propose a recount of the America's cup points for the past two years with
handicap figures worked in for all the grief that I have gone through with
what are obviously not very clear rules and procedures. I'm using a Florida
attorney to represent me.
