Fall Free Flight Festival
=========================

I only attended the first day of the low key 3 day Fall Free Flight Festival,
but that was great. The weather was perfect with the highs being just over
70. The Thermal Thumbers were running the 'silent' FAI events and
decided not to have rounds, however we F1B flyers came to a gentlemen's
agreement to have rounds. True spirit of Lord Wakefield, what ! Bob
Tymchek was not there, but is place in harrasssing/advising the F1B flyers
when to fly was taken by Al Hotard's young grandson Cory. Al, it sounds
like Cory has spent time with Tymchek, .. I'm not sure he is such a good
influence. Cory and brother Tyler did some timing duty as well as flying,
thanks guys.

There were lots of SAM flyers trying to make up for the air time they
missed by the shortened SAM Champs.

Doug Joyce reports that he is making an F1A and hopes to have it ready by
the Patterson. We assume that is a canard. Doug is discouraged by the poor
turn out in F1C events and says he's not old enough for F1B yet.

Patterson Contest
----------------
The last California FAI contest of the season is next weekend. The mini
events are Saturday morning and the F1A, B and C start Saturday afternoon
and finish on Sunday. Check the America's Cup scores and see if you can
do it with this and don't have to go to Florida. Big cookout on the field
Saturday night.

Reminder to NFFS members to be sure to vote on the change to the status
of the Society and Western VP.

Editorial Fat Cat
-----------------

The editorial Fat Cat is for sale... Seeing I have decided not to convert to
F1C, and I have been told that it is not correct for F1B sportsmen to have
such as opulent machine as a Fat Cat. If you wish to aquire this classic
