Eloy, Arizona - Dec. and Jan. contests
From: Peter Brocks
On December 5 and 6 the Arizona Free Flight Championships will be held in Eloy, Arizona. This is the last America's Cup and National Cup contest West of the Mississippi for the year 2015. There are FAI, AMA, NFFS and SAM events. On the field in Eloy it will be cool in the morning but it should warm up to about 70 deg. during the day. The 2 fliers for this contest can be downloaded from the NFFS web site - click on the blue "Arizona Championships" in the Master Contest Calendar.
For information on the 3-day 2016 Southwest Regional Model Airplane Championships on January 16, 17, 18 go to aalmps.com/16info.htm . Please use the Entry Forms (FAI and AMA) to pre-enter before Jan. 1, 2016. This will be the 66th SWR!

Another old tow line flyer went west...RIP. Leeper
Chris,Thanks for informing me, & I pray he passed quickly without suffering.
Ciao,Leeper
I thought you might want to know about Bob. I don't know if they have determined an official date for his death but my guess is Oct 27 or 28 because the newspapers for the 28th and on had not been picked up. It was pretty much a surprise to everyone. I am going to miss Bob. I figure we probably drove well over 60,000 miles going to contests over the years. Chris
Bob Klipp passed away sometime in the past few days. When I went to check on him on Friday (the 30th), newspapers from Wednesday through Friday were sitting on the lawn. So that makes me guess it probably happened sometime Tuesday-early Wednesday. I called the local police but they said other than coming out to make a call and inspection, they really couldn't break into the house on the suspicion that something may have happened. I went back to check again Sunday afternoon. More papers on the lawn and his mail box contained mail that hadn't been picked up. I was able to catch one of his neighbors and they called the fire dept/EMTs. They showed up along with the police and for a while no one seemed to want to make a decision. Finally one of the EMTs said that all the signs pointed out that there was someone inside and probably in trouble. They pried open a window, went in and found Bob. The EMT said that from the looks of things, it probably happened quickly and unless they had been there right when it happened, it probably wouldn't have made much difference when they finally decided to go in. By an amazing coincidence, Bob's cousins (his only relatives according to them) showed up to check on Bob also. So after doing their inspection/report, and the coroner/medical examiner took Bob's body away, the police turned the keys over to them. I don't know if they would have given the keys to me or his neighbor so that worked out well. We went inside and looked through some folders in the living room and kitchen. His cousin found a binder that had a lawyer's stationery and probably a will (I didn't ask to see the binder). I exchanged numbers and they said they would keep in touch with me. His cousin found some forms with Bob's birth date. He was 88 on Oct. 28. He had never told me his age. I was a bit surprised he was that old. I know we will all miss Bob. Chris
Nov 10, 2015 AmCup Report correction,
The Simpson Memorial was flown at Perry Oklaoma, not Denton Texas. Therefore the Perry OK scores were re-scored for the "3 field rule". So one F1C and F1J flyer does has four scores. That flyer is Faust Parker. He leads F1C with 100 points and F1J with 102 points. This correction also applied to July Parker in F1Q moving her into 5th place.
