Big Al’s Contest Notice
I had a request to hold a F1ABC contest on Friday the 23rd. The request was for another AMA sanctioned contest so several team program participants would have a chance to collect time for the team selection finals. I have a second AMA sanction for a contest, which I am calling “180 is Max”. The format will allow you to make seven flights any time during the day. All flight times will be 180 seconds. For those who max out a 6 pm one flight to the ground flyoff for each event will start with the high time winner overall receiving a DVD copy of “180 is Max”. “180 is Max” is a great DVD to view. You get to see flyers from the 1971 World Champs that were held in Sweden. This was the last World Champs that was flown from a “box” not a flight line. A $5 entry fee will be collected from each contestant. The total amount for each event collected will be divided at a ratio of 50%, 30%, and 20% for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place prizes. The format allows those who arrive in the afternoon on Friday time to put their seven flights in and still make the flyoff.

Malcolm Campbell
As usual excellent photos by Malcolm. Includes a sequence of a Jama launch if you want to do the Jama roll. I studied it detail as I wanted to know how he avoided the cow pats but still could not figure it.
The banquet at the end of the 3 Australian contests probably had some of the best , if not the very best food I have ever had at Free Flight banquet. The town of Narrandera has a population of about 6000, but it would be a stretch to say that the hamlet of Morundra, 30km closer to the flying field has 60 but the local pub owner is not only an opera lover but a gourmet chef. This chef formerly cooked in the Royal Australian Air Force and he should be used a recruiting advertizement.
