Clarification for the Mini events at Lost Hills This weekend.
Following the Tangent tradition the mini events for both the California Invitational and the Sierra Cup are being flown on Sunday. Each will fly 45 minute round. So they will go 45 minute rounds of Livotto followed by 45 minute rounds for Sierra Cup .
Tustin Hanger Damaged
TV News and LA Times report that the Tustin hanger used in the past for Indoor flying , including Stan Buddenbohm's recent hlg world record has been damaged. Part of the roof fell in damaging a modern high tech airship that was in the hanger. The extent of the damage is not known. One rumor is that is was near the carrier pigeon loft on the roof. Maybe too much guano :-). The LA Times article said the building was still the responsibility of the Navy but was soon to be handed over to Orange County. The building is a historical site.
Krka cup 2013-canceled
Dear modellers,
In behalf of organizators of Krka Cup 2013 I am informing you that Krka Cup
2013 is cancelled. We organizers could not collect all consents of
landowners of the flying site.
In our case 45 consents of landowners have to be collected and if only one
is missing, the event can not be organized. In previous years collecting of
the landowners consents was not hard task since almost all landowners are
reasonable people. But this year, some claimed that permanent damage is
being done to the grass, some required unreasonable compensation. Despite
intensive effort, some owners did not want to sign the consent.
Since we do not have a reserve flying field, we have to cancel the event.
We are very sorry and we apologize for possible expenses regarding this
event.
To competitors who have already payed the fee, the fee will be returned.
