Freeing the 1953 Wiffenpool Wakefield

Freeing the 1953 Wiffenpool Wakefield:  Way many showed interest in adopting my pet, so a fair way to settle it will be through a drawing  Tues, 3/1 @ 4:00 pm by my partner, Carin.  Three names drawn will be posted on SEN shortly afterwards.  If undeliverable except by post, winners should be aware that pack and ship of this longish airplane might be $100 or so.

Thanks for all the nice contact mails.

And when I told him he fell off his bike

Some time back we commented on the training program of a F1A sportsman from the UK as published in FFn. I think this one from Oz that we heard about at Lost Hills up stages that. Another F1A sportsman, Phil Mitchell who does the real Ironman Triathalons, the full monty, not just those wimpy Olympic outings, got the "falling of the bike reaction" from fellow triathalon competitor when he told him that he just did the Triathalons to get in shape for flying his model airplane !

AZM and MM Results

We got a few questions about the AZM and MM results. In a couple of places the early morning flyoff  max was indicated at 420 rather than to 600 that was flown, and some form of error in totaling crept in when the organizer supplied AZM F1B results were reformatted for display. We did not explain that in the MM F1B there was an additional FO to fix the second place tie.  However in spite of all the above the places are correct.

Paul Lagan

A number of people at the Feb contests have asked how Paul Lagan is doing, Paul and his wife live in a small town not far from Christchurch in New Zealand, the site of the recent major earthquake.  Paul was on the way home when the quake happened.  Paul reports that his house was far enough from the center of Christchurch so it was not damaged and while some members of his extended family did have extensive property damage and were badly shaken they suffered no physical injuries.
