Letter From Ittai

Hello everybody, I just wanted to say thank you once again for a delightful experience at the Sierra Cup. meeting experienced modelers and kind people made this trip worthwhile.. thank you all for treating me so nice.

I hope to come again next year. I would like to invite you all for one of our competitions in Israel. Normally we have great weather and high level of flying (and one of the best fields in the world). We would be very happy to host any one of you. Despite you probably hear in the news, Israel is a quiet, peaceful and a very interesting place to visit. please consider it.

I would like to thank Jim Parker and Mike Mc'keever specially for their support before and during my stay.

Keep in touch,

Ittai Shichman (Israel)

P.S Norm, our conversations made me think a lot.. hope to hear from you

Travel information for European teams  World Champ's in Argentina.

Since Oct.1 this year Iberia Airlines has a daily direct flight from Madrid Spain to Cordoba Argentina. Cordoba is the airport which is the closest to Embalse.
This flight (IB6849) is very convenient for Europeans because it's a night flight from Europa direct to Cordoba, leaving 01,35 hours from Madrid and arrive at 10,25 hours local time next morning in Cordoba. All other European flights need a stop-over in South America and sometimes change of airport and/or one night in a hotel (Buenos Aires). Iberia Airlines also has connections with most European Capitals so you can make a one airline flight and one stop, what will reduce the cost and carrying your modelbox.
The return flight from Cordoba (IB6850) leave at 15.00 hours and will arrive at Madrid the next morning 06.55 so you have plenty of time for a connecting flight back home.
I assume that the Customs at Cordoba will be instructed about the World Champs at Embalze and will handle procedures at ease.

As maybe many teams will use the flight from Madrid to Cordoba. I take the opportunity to write a letter to Iberia requesting extra benefits.
I am thinking about a second suitcase or modelbox at no charge like a golf bag.
Without the special allowance we have to pay 100 Euro (return) for a second suitcase, 23 Kg. and the max. dimensions 158 cm. (L+W+H). Over this size you have to pay 300 Euro! Also we can request special handling of our modelboxes.

To contact Iberia I like to know the volume of tickets Iberia may expect. Send me a mail with your country name, if you like to use this flight or not and the number of tickets you may expect to book. This will be only an indication and no commitment. I like to have your quote by the middle of December at the latest. The higher the number of passengers the more leverage!
