Lathe for Sale
Hi everyone,
As I have recently switched to a CNC capable lathe, I am selling my old lathe (which can also transform into a vertical milling machine). The lathe is a Unimat product, Austrian made, very small, used by me but no problems or defect of any kind. I am asking $250.
If anyone is interested please send me an email. I have pictures available.

BMFA FF Forums available from NFFS
This is to announce that the BMFA FF Forum for 2009 has just been released and copies will be available in the USA thanks to special arrangements made through the BMFA and NFFS. The US copies will be printed on standard USA sized paper and bound with a plastic "comb type" binding. I expect delivery of the 09 FF Forums by late May. Interested USA buyers may wish to send a check and be the first in line when they are available. The cost of the 09 Forum is unchanged from 08 and can be yours for $25 plus $5 shipping in the US. I still have a few copies of the 08 FF Forums in stock at the reduced price of $20 per copy. I can ship both Forums in one envelope for the same $5 price.
For further information, contact Bob Stalick, NFFS Publications Services <This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.>. If you send a check for one or more of these books, send to NFFS Publications Services, PO Box 1775, Albany, OR 97321.
F1Q at Baltic Cup / Estonian Cup
On May 1st & 2nd these two World-Cup contests were held at Lithuania. The first event was plagued by strong winds on blue skies, bearable in the first round, strong in the second, horrible in the third ... fourth delayed until evening with only strong wind. No fifth round due to time running out, flyoff after round four. F1A ended with Cibulskas (LTU), Kulmakko (FIN) and Berzinsh (LAT) in 1 to 3, F1B had Luman (EST), Ivancikas (LTU) and Skibicki (POL), F1C had Wlodarczyk (POL), Burek (POL) and Roots (EST), and F1Q Salzer (AUT), Lindner (GER) and Assmus (GER) in the top places.
On the second event the flying was perfect, still clear skies and low to
moderate wind made flying wonderful. F1A had 15 in the flyoff, F1B 7, F1C
and F1Q 2 each. Winners in F1A were Findahl (SWE), Sauter (GER) and
Halbmeier (GER), in F1B Vivchar (UKR), Peers (GBR) and
Mackus (LTU), F1C Burek (POL), Vasiliev (BLR) and Roots (EST), and F1Q
Lindner (GER), Salzer (AUT) and Mackus (LTU).
Both contests had a lot of Juniors - male and female! - from the host
contries LTU and EST, as well as from LAT and POL.
F1Q had some interesting developments. Lindner and Assmus had largish,
F1C-like planes with tremenduous climb potential, alas with stability
problems at long runs, so Lindner flew mostly less than 10s motor run to get
nearly as high as myself with a spiral climb on 20s! The motor run reduction
in the flyoff thus did not hurt him as much as me ... we agreed to use a
5s-run immediately for the flyoff! Roland Mackus (LTU) also flew a spiral
climb pattern with a F1P-like plane which might have used a more powerful
motor. The stable climb probably allowed me to win in the turbulent
conditions of the first contest, while in the stable conditions of the
second day I had no chance.
Another clear indication that the rules in F1Q have to be changed ... how is
still not clear!
Regards Klaus W. Salzer
