 FFQ Digital

Free Flight Quarterly is announcing a Digital Edition as an alternative or supplement to the current print edition. Subscribers can choose between the Print and the Digital edition or, as a further alternative, receive both editions. The Digital Edition is an Acrobat .pdf file that can be downloaded from our website www.freeflightquarterly.com. Its size is approximately 14 Mb, thus it can be loaded in 4 to 5 minutes or less in most broadband ( ADSL) Internet connections. Once loaded, the free Acrobat Reader can be used to read and copy articles, enlarge plans, etc.

The actual details in the plans and photos will be sharper and more detailed than in the print edition,in which they are limited by the quality of the paper and the printing processes. Further advantages  of the Digital Edition are its availability, immediate after announcement of a new edition, and considerable smaller cost than the print edition. Let me reassure the readers that prefer the print edition that it will be available as before, in the usual 40 page format and retaining the normal feel and usability of the printed pages. Of course, a combination of the Print and the Digital will bring the best out of the published material.

For readers that would like to test the new edition, a 10-page excerpt of the latest issue #28 is available for free download from our website.  This trial will enable the user to test download time, ease of storing and  retrieving material from the Digital Edition and naturally to compare these aspects with the print edition. You are cordially invited to visit our website and explore this possibility.

Further details such as method of downloading (with a password) and price for the diverse options are available in the website. The next issue, #29 for October 2008, will be the first to be offered from the outset in both Print and Digital Edition formats . If you carry out the suggested download test, I look forward to your comments, in the certainty that this new alternative will appeal to many of our readers.
