Notes from the Negev
to continue with qualifying in another country - Brokenspar

Notes from the Negev
====================

From a brief phone conversation with George Batiuk. ..
F1B
===

1. Oleg Kulakovsky
2. Bror Eimar ?

7. Vladi Andriukov
12. John Sessums
31 Bob Piserchio

Bob's and John's model went out of sight to both the
offical timerkeepers and the backup Timekeepers who were
US Team memebers. .. as usual there is always a certain
amount of luck with the allocation of the pole position
and it appears that we drew part of the time where the visibility was
not so good.

In F1C both Ed Keck and Faust Parker are clean and Bon Mc B had
adouble overrun.

George conneted that this is the hotest, dirtiest and most unpleant
flying conditions he has ever been to. He was completely exhausted.
Many sportsmen, in particular F1C had problems attributed
to dirt or dust in most things.

George said that the wind only gets up to 14 mph which
in itself is not too bad but at 10 mph the dust really starts to
move and is much bigger problem than the wind.

We've hoping to get more complete info soon and will post it.

The Detroit Balsa Bugs consider their flying fields to be Lost Hills,
Muncie, Camp Borden ( Canada ),
and maybe Eloy, Sacramento. For a few, Palm Bay. In past years, Bong. Now
closed to flying models, Dayton.
So the question is a fair question. On further thought, why not allow
qualifying in any properly sanctioned and organized FAI competition ? A
point our team selection committee may wish to consider.
( for example, Murphy, parked in Europe for a year or two by his
business ).
