I just got my NFFS Digest with Tiffaney O'Dell's article on the
Israel World Champs - Great article and Great photos. Tiffaney
is a sports journalist from Oregon. If you want to know
why she was in the Negev, read the article !

I think this article and the one in the Wall Street Journal about
Andriukov are both very interesting because they show us
viewed from the eyes of a non-modeller. In both cases the articles
are what one would expect from a professional journalist,
well researched with lots of details. Tiffaney's photos
were very good too - some different shots - for example
she showed both Faust Parker and Bob Piserchio working on the
stab of their airplanes ... Bob you need to keep that photo
to remind you about adjusting the rudder !

Don't stop now Tiffaney.

I regret to report that SCAT member, pioneer aeromodeller, Bob Milligan
passed away November 4th, just short of his 80th birthday. Services were
held November 8th. in Lancaster, CA.

Bob was an outstanding sportsman and has been missed these last few years.

25 grams in F1B. We have a rule change coming for 30 this is still to be
tried. The effect of these ideas being constantly thrown in will not help
one bit. We need a bit of consistency and certainty in all the F classes.
Changes happening all the time will not help retain let alone gain new
flyers. Lets hold the line for a while at least please. No more ad hoc of
the cuff changes! It often seems to me that all the changes that are
proposed come from people who don't fly the class.

For sale:
Walston tracker system consisting of:

Three transmitters (never crashed) with coated stranded-cable antennas in
216.3 frequency range. A very good setup: you can load three airplanes and
don't
have to worry about changing the transmitters during the contest day. Xmtr
uses two 392
batteries, which I buy at the grocery store for 70 cents each.

Six-channel receiver (transmitters are on Channels 1, 2, and 3) in leather
case. Power source is rechargable, built-in nicad pack.

Folding (NOT plug-in) Walston Yagi receiver antenna in canvas carrying
bag. Like new.

Custom-tuned Rex Hinson collapsing mid-range antenna (much smaller than
Walston Yagi).

Receiver charger, earphone and "fanny-pack" style carrying case that holds
receiver and Hinson antenna. Zipper pocket on top holds earphone and cable.

Price: $850 firm.

Call 770-618-0424 workdays, Eastern; 404-876-1268 until 8:30 pm (Eastern)
weekdays or on weekends. Or e-mail me.
