FAA Summer program

Scat Members Norm Furutani and Tom Laird with my pseudo brother John Morrill
gave an aeromodelling class as part of the FAA Summer High School program.
This program in the South Bay area of LA County took 3 pupils
from 10 high schools for a week. It included a vist to the LAX Control Tower
and other benhind the scenes activites at LAX, visit to the Santa Monica Air
Museum and a ride in a light plane. The modelling program consisted of
building DeltaDarts [kit s domated by Tony Naccarato of T&A Hobbies].
After seeing a DeltaDart flight by John Morrill the kids
were impressed by how well such a simple airplane flies.
All did an excellent job in building the planes.
The second part is flying the planes in a hanger at Sanata Monica Aiport.

Norm is the AMA's representative to the FAI education program. Every
year as part of the summer band program at his
high school they have a delta dart program.
Must be something to do with musicans and modelling .. Peter King,
Gene Jensen, Bob Norton, Norm, Andy Crisp, Dave Roundsavlle
... right down to Hartill and his Sax.
Looks like Bob Norton is out of place,.. don't you know Bob
that you're supposed to fly rubber events !
