October Update

We have the latest version of the flyers for the World Cup events to be held at Lost Hills in October.  In addition to these events there are the Isaacson and Kiwi  starting on 2 October and the North American on the second week. The FAI events at these contests are America’s Cup events.  Details of these will follow.

We have received enquires  about international attendance at these events, both from people wanting to come and those wanting to know who is coming.  You may remember we polled SEN readers on this a while back. At that time at least 30 people from outside the USA indicated that they were planning on attending provided ….. a number different condition.  The conditions for entry into the USA are still quite complicated with additional restrictive criteria from the CDC (Center for Disease Control) on top of the normal visa conditions. These restrictions stop entry from a number countries, including many in Europe for people who are not US Citizens, not US permanent residents and not those without some special visas( for example international students, with the right visa  studying in the USA are allowed to enter the USA) . Many people who would like to attend in October fall in this blocked category.  There has been some discussion in the news about these restrictions being removed for some countries, perhaps with conditions such the person must have a received a Covid vaccination.  Details of this, including the date it will  happen have not been announced yet. We are not an authority on this and the conditions vary depending on a different criteria,  so people planning to attend need to check this and follow it closely.   And for Americans who wanted  to know “who is coming”  we can’t tell you that either.

SEN is about FAI Free Flight and an important part of this is travelling to other counties, taking part in World Cup events and flying with our friends from all around the world. This is hard at the moment especially when it requires international air travel.  We have been affected more than  many local and national events.  Let’s keep on sharing what we are up to and how events have gone even if we can’t always do it face to face quite yet.

So back to October, here is the event info.
