This is a reminder that the Detroit Balsa Bugs will be hosting the 58th Annual Inter-Cities Meet May 25, 26 and 27. This is both an America's Cup and National Cup contest. As in the past, we will be holding an FAI qualifying meet where you can accumulate time towards the finals. No rounds. This gives you the opportunity to get two contests in one weekend. If you would like a contest flyer and advanced entry form, please email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Hope to see you there!

Hi Roger,

Sorry to hear of Bob Cherny's passing thru Doug's email on SEN yesterday. He was one of my herors too with that marvelous FAI Power ship and all the stories of success in World Champs. I asked Doug awhile ago if he could write up afew stories of that era. That would be a cool way to remember all our heros...past & present (Doug!?)

Bob Hunt called me yesterday to say he heard that Woody Blanchard had passed away (?can anyone confirm?) and did I know of anyone who could write an Obit for MA.

Woody was sure a hero to many. He was a trail blazer with very successful innovative designs. I still have afew! Maybe working for NACA at Langley, VA(sp?) with the likes of Frank Parmenter & (?) George Perryman(?) was one reason. How many times he won Nats Grand National Champ in the '50s was astounding fer sur till the young 'upatert' Bob Sifleet stole some of the hardware away.

Please let me know if anyone can help.

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Roger,

I thought some of your readers might like to have a look at some Free flight activity from Down Under. I have attached our club (Brisbane Free Flight Society) April Newsletter which has a good sprinkling of photos from club days, MAAA Nationals and the recent AFFS championships. Keep up the good work - I enjoy reading SEN as I know the rest of our club members do also.
