Roger, been receiving lots of Maxmen entries from flyers outside of 
California, but very few locals.  Maybe you could do a little reminder=
for me?  I will bring extra entry forms with me Saturday, if anyone is 
interested in taking care of it then.  GB

Responding to those discerning FF jazz lovers on this wavelength, I must 
take this moment
to thank and applaud Mr. Peter King for the great sounds he has recorded
in the Charlie Parker
style.  Mike Fantham gave me my first musical exposure to Pete's sound 
in '95 when he=20
played "A Tribute To Charlie Parker" (CD on Continuum Group Records, 
#19201-2).  I was
blown away, to say the least, soon adding a copy to my jazz collection, 
which is playing as I write this. 
I highly recommend it to all other jazz loving SEN readers.
Thanks to Pete for the jazz web site listings. I bookmarked them 
immediately!
You must please let us know when you are coming to the LA area for a
gig.  I hope it's soon!

Hi Roger
I don't know if I already sent you a copy of this contest flyer for our San
Valeers annual but it will be held on April 8 and 9th at Taft and will be a
National cup contest.  We have F1A, F1B ,F1J, international postal coupe
along with our usual AMA and Nostalgia events.  We always give great prizes
and anyone that is interested in attending and needs a flyer can send me an
Email request & I can E mail them or by snail mail if that is not available.

Roger,

I too have a musical story to tell.  It happened at the Eloy, AZ meet in
1993, with Hardy and Don Chesson.

I was flying an older wakefield to which I had added auto surfaces.  The
monofilament lines ran very prominently along the top of the motor tube.
Hardy made a crack about my model being "strung like a banjo", or something
to that affect.   Later in the meet I did some serious damage to my model
rendering it unflyable.  Soon thereafter Hardy broke the DT line on his F1C.
In spite of a time crunch, Hardy went back to the hotel to get the stuff to
run a new DT line.  Don and I were concerned about his ability to be ready
before the end of the next round.  So while Hardy was gone we pulled two
lines out of my wake, tied them together and ran them all the way along the
outside of the fuselage from the stab to the timer.  Unfortunately we
couldn't hook the line to the timer so we rigged up a fuse DT.  Hardy was a
bit skeptical about our repair but flew it anyway.  If I remember correctly
it got him through one or two rounds and into the first flyoff... which he
dropped  with a short fuse.

Roger, Actually, Andriukov is a very accomplished guitar player and folk
singer, although you who be hard pressed to get him to admit.  We have spent
several late evenings at the Andriukov abode being serenaded by Alex, after
a few dips in the bottle, of course.  But please be aware that they are
usually Russian folk songs!  George Batiuk

[Now that Alex has been here a while - will we see him performing on
the stage at the next world champs with Andy Crisp and Dave Roundsaville?]

Dear Roger,

More on musicians......Bob Piserchio is a pianist and Don Zink is great
on the trumpet. Bob was a music major until he changed his major to
physics.
