RDT Armbands

Awhile back Don D asked about where to find armbands that many people use
for their RDT transmitters.  These can be a handy way to keep your RDT
transmitter accessible for quick emergency action without having to stick
your hand in your pocket to pull it out and quickly arm it and push the
button.  There are many of these available in sporting goods stores or
wherever Ipod accessories are sold as they are very popular for joggers and
workout enthusiasts to hold their music gadgets while exercising.  Since
many Ipods are close to the size of the Airtek RDT transmitters they can
easily be adapted for RDT.  The one I use can be found on Ebay by searching
for "Nike ipod nano armband".  It is made for the 1st and 2nd generation
Ipod Nanos and can be found for around $5.  I cut a couple holes in mine to
access the power switch and the RDT button.

Date change for the MMM F1E World Cup Event

As you might have heard AMA moved the 2013 NATS to be in conflict with the MMM World Cup event resulting in a conflict with those going to represent the USA in this year's F1E world Champs.  The desire is to offer one additional F1E competition for our team members before they depart for the World Champs.  So after contactingall the flyers who had expressed interest in flying F1E on the MMM's new site the decision has been made to move the F1E event from Friday July 12 to MondayJuly 15.

Tustin Blimp Hangar Meeting

Thanks Guys!
Nice turnout, especially with such short notice. Hopefully we will be included in Orange County's hangar plans!

Will keep you posted. Brian's pics are online at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/44670670@N02/sets/72157633254561813/

- Norm

Plus info from the Harbor Soaring Soc.

Hi everyone:  This is a THANK YOU note on top of the one from Norm Furutani
shown above.  Mary Lou Calleros (wife of our club VP Jesse Calleros) kept an
attendance record, and reports that 84 modelers, family, and friends joined
us at the hangar.  This is spectacular!  Many thanks.

In Norm's E-mail above he references Brian Furutani's photos posted at at:

Rob Askegaard, our club photographer, will provide photos for a complete
report in the May 2013 Plane Rap newsletter which will be on our web site
www.1hss.org about May 1st.

Our flight instructors, Larry Renger and Andy Borgogna for control line,
John Krug, Hank Smith, and Ted Broberg for electric RC, worked with over a
dozen new students.  Thanks guys.

The next step:  We are told that the development companies will digest the
public inputs, and a second public workshop will be conducted in about a
month.  We will spread the word as we get it.

Go to our Harbor Soaring Society web site at www.1hss.org where we have a
section covering our efforts over the past year.  We have our preliminary
plan, reports of meetings with the Orange County Parks Department and AMA,
our 22 page application (by John Rittenhouse) for Historical Site status in
the AMA National Aeromodeling Heritage Program, and much more.

Apologies if we cluttered your E-mail with duplicate messages.  We are still
organizing our communications.

Best Regards,  The HSS Blimp Hangar Action Committee
